File Cabinet + Door Desk Question

Sounds very similar to the desk I built recently. I ended up using some end tables that are around 20inches with nonslip mats on top. (I'm moving soon so I wanted it mobile). I have pushed on it only once hard enough to get it to start to flip up. It's pretty secure even for 2 monitors all my gaming stuff food water etc. Good luck, post results! More on reddit.com

Done literally all the time, check out IKEA Karlby on an IKEA Alex drawer. Personally I would think about getting a deeper and longer desk, which would require a support leg in the middle.

I'm getting ready to build a desk using 2 filing cabinets and a solid core door. The doors come in pretty standard sizes, either with a width of 30" or 36". My question is what depth of filing cabinets are recommended (as well as brands). I noticed most HONs are 26" deep, but I've also seen filing cabinets that are 18" deep. Would an 18" cabinet provide ample support for the desk?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.
