Modern DIY Patio Table - Effie Row
November 19, 2020 - Thank you! We used douglas fir. It is holding up well but if I had to do it again I might splurge on cedar. We recently purchased 4 outdoor chairs from Article which are the perfect height for the table and I love the style – https://www.article.com/product/2237/dot-sun-yellow-dining-chair.

2 X 4 Patio-porch Table & Chair Set Plans
This DIY 2 x 4 table and chair set can be built with ease in a single afternoon with these easy to follow, step by step plans that include complete material and tool lists to create both the table and chairs. And with the most basic set of tools! If you have a drill, square and a circular saw or jig saw - you can make this!
I wanted a new outdoor dining set. So I built a table and benches. The table inserts are for a planter, ice trough and an umbrella insert.
Looks good. Hate to be the "wood movement" guy, but with no spacing in-between your wood and having them directly attached to other pieces of wood running the opposite grain direction, I think you are going to encounter a shitload of splitting in warping over time. Hope it doesn't happen, but with this being an outdoor table it seems likely it will. More on reddit.com

Hey Everyone, first post here but I've lurked for quite a bit trying to soak up as much knowledge as I can. I'm new to woodworking and DIY, was sorta forced into it last year when my contractor decided he liked my money in his account more than purchasing materials for our deck. Easy DIY Outdoor Chairs - Stacy Risenmay
March 15, 2023 - The firepit was the perfect place for these chairs. If you add these to your patio space, it would be pretty easy to build a simple outdoor coffee table to match. These stair would also work well around an outdoor dining table. You could also add a seat cushion to them to make them a little more cozy, especially if you are going to be lounging on your patio. You can pick up standard sized seat cushions at a store or DIY your own outdoor cushions using outdoor fabric or shower curtains.

DIY Outdoor Table - Angela Marie Made
January 14, 2025 - This table is 72″ long and will comfortably fit 6 outdoor dining chairs (even larger size chairs). I paired our DIY patio table with two sets of these metal outdoor dining chairs with cushions (also available here and here). They were the highest quality chair for the best price (that came with cushions) that I could find that I liked the style of best.

May 13, 2018 - Table will be on an uncovered concrete patio. Also as far as the top goes, should i leve room between the wooden slats, butt them up against each other, or attempt a glue-up to make a solid top? - ArmchairLinebacker · Click to expand... My suggestion would be to keep this 1st project bare bones simple. Use pressure treated for entire project. 2×6 for top butted with small gaps. April 22, 2024 - I like the Rogue Engineer (https://rogueengineer.com) and Ana White (https://www.ana-white.com) websites for DIY furniture.
