Does Best Buy no longer offer car stereo receiver installations (paid or included with stereo purchase)? I've been wanting to upgrade my old car's stereo unit and now that I'm ready to buy, I see "installation may be available, but you'll need to choose a different store location" and no location near 250 miles around me seem to offer it. For reference, I was looking to buy a Sony unit with Apple CarPlay SKU: 6480147
Anyone have anything official backing this up?

Hey yall,
Just set an appointment today to have a stereo installed. I purchased the stereo from Best Buy to qualify for the free install. My car has both a backup cam and steering wheel controls. I went out of my way to purchase a full install kit with the wiring harnesses (stereo, backup cam, steering controls, usb adapter etc), dash kit, the whole nine yards.
When I was scheduling the appointment, the fella let me know that I would still have to pay for the labor on the steering wheel controls ($64.99) and for the backup cam ($149.99)
Do I really have to pay 150 for them to join a few wires to my existing OEM backup cam? It seems absurd and at that rate I’d rather go through the process of doing it myself. Any feedback would be appreciated!
I was thinking of getting the Pioneer DMH-2660NEX installed in my 2016 Outlander at best buy. I have installed non-carplay stereo receivers in my other cars before but they didn't have backup cameras, steering wheel controls or handsfree systems. Is there service any good? I know I will have to pay extra to retain the steering wheel controls.
How much do they charge to install a radio the customer supplies? I have a special radio I want to use that BB doesn't sell, but I don't want to install it myself. Hoping I can pay BB to do it. Thanks.
I’m planning to install an aftermarket car radio in my 2017 Honda Accord. The unit I ordered just arrived today, and I tried installing it myself, but I don’t have the proper tools, so I’m thinking about getting it installed at Best Buy.
On their website, I see a service called "In-Dash Car Stereo Installation" for $130. Is this the right service for installing an aftermarket head unit? Has anyone used Best Buy for this kind of installation before?
Also, how do I make an appointment for the installation? Can I book it online, or do I need to call or visit a store?
I was thinking about having Best Buy install my sub and amp and wiring it as I’m not confident in my ability to make sure it’s working to the best of its ability.
Have any of you guys had anything installed by Best Buy? How was the quality? Would you say it’s worth the price
I have an '08 Porsche Turbo that needs the head unit replaced. I have an extended warranty (non-factory) that will cover the replacement. I'll be paying upfront and the warranty company will reimburse me later. However, they'll need to talk to the installer and depending on the cost (if it's over $1,000), they'll send an appraiser out to inspect. Is this something that Best Buy can do?
Also, I have Total Tech from a TV purchase a few weeks ago. What type of savings or benefits would I realize when using Best Buy's car stereo services. Thank you in advance.
I'm a little confuse about how this all works. It says stereo installation 129.99 and backup camera 149.99. Which is 279.98.
Total tech is about 200ish. But how does it work when you buy the stereo and backup camera outside of best buy?
Also, what happens when you buy a model (stereo and camera) from best buy?
Thank you.
I would have never bought TotalTech until I decided to replace my stereo and speakers.. (and add a backup camera). All of a sudden it became a LOT cheaper buy my equipment at Best Buy and get TT for a year. I don't know precisely how much I saved, but I know it was at least $100+.
You need to buy all the products at bestbuy to get them installed for free with totaltech. Otherwise totaltech only gives 20% off the price. So if you are buying everything here the installation will be free. Stereo installs are always free even without totaltech, as long as it’s over $100 I believe
