I had an upgrade available so I decided to trade in my iPhone 14 Pro Max for the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold through Verizon. I placed the order online and picked it up from my local Verizon store 2 hours later. That was on Tuesday May 6. I had a lot of trouble trying to activate my phone and was chatting with customer service for a few hours trying to activate the Fold. On my Verizon account it said I had a pending change on my account which was preventing me from activating it. When I tried activating it directly from the pixel itself, it said that this phone was activated or locked from another carrier (I can't remember exactly what it said but it was a long those lines). Long story short, I finally managed to activate the pixel thanks to Verizon customer service. So today I wanted to buy a care plan directly from Google and upon entering my IMEI number to check it's eligibility I get a message saying "This device is past the eligibility period for coverage" and so I contact customer service and they tell me "Upon checking the details with my team, I would like to inform you that the device is activated on March 13, 2025 that is the reason you are unable to add the preferred care to your device." And also said "Unfortunately, since it's been more than 30 days since your device purchase, you are no longer eligible to add Preferred Care." I already had my suspicious but this kind of confirmed it for me but please let me know if I'm wrong. If I'm not wrong, what would be the right way to go about this.

If the phone was sealed in box, it was most likely purchased by someone else and then returned. This would cause some of the issues you're describing. With a purchase receipt you should be able to remedy that with them.

Could have been sold to someone else, they returned it to Verizon but never opened it but the system didn’t finish the return correctly.

They are as described. Great is like new… My sister got CPO iPhones for my nephew and her.. for him she got “Good” and for her she got “great” .. the good has some scuffing, but with a case you can’t see it. Great has nothing. they have a warranty, and the added benefit that you can add Verizon‘s Total Equipment protection plan($11.40) to the line which adds extended warranty coverage (if you don’t want the warranty just add Wireless Protectoin plan for $7.25). You cannot add APple Care + to a pre owned phone.

I would hook it up to a computer with Itunes and do a full restore on it as new device. That should install current software from scratch and wipe everything from the device. You can also restore it from an backup on Icloud and get all your pic's and apps.
