That’s the neat part, you don’t! At best, these manufacturer provided numbers can give a rough idea of performance between the same brand’s lineup, Dyson stick vacs being one example. However, their real purpose is just to impress you with a big number. Number one, there’s not really a standard method or organization that tests these metrics. Number two, vacuum performance depends on a lot more than some easy-to-digest numbers. There’s not really a good way to quantify factors like nozzle design, agitation, or the way a vacuum interacts with the carpet. Also, be aware that the suction/airflow for the cordless machines drops dramatically on lower power modes. Those super high numbers really only apply to the super-short runtime settings, which I rarely find practical for real world use. As an aside, these are what the different values mean.
