My eBay Account Was Hacked, Now I’m Permanently Banned?? (reposted because I forgot to blur sensitive information)
Permanently suspended from eBay despite no activity?
Ebay is a huge scam!
What are the absolute must have tools or extensions for serious ebay buyers in 2025?

Hey everyone. So, I tried logging into my eBay account for the first time in years, only to find out it’s been permanently suspended. I thought that had to be a mistake, until I tried resetting my password and saw that the phone number on the account isn’t mine anymore, meaning someone likely hacked and took over my account without my knowledge :’) I contacted eBay support with proof, including the suspension message and the fact that my info was changed. But instead of helping, they sent me a boilerplate email saying my account is permanently banned for “putting the community at risk.” They didn’t even acknowledge the possibility that my account was compromised. Then I tried calling eBay, and the rep I spoke with insisted my account doesn’t exist and basically acted like I was imagining the whole thing, even though I have a literal email from eBay confirming the ban. She also said that if I were suspended I’d still be able to log in, and said I must have just fallen for a fishing scam or something, even though I told her I’d tried logging in on the eBay app. I’m at a total loss, and have no clue what to do, so if anyone could offer any advice or insight into this mess, that’d be wonderful, thank you :’)
Hi everyone, I'm hoping to understand whether this has happened to others or if there's something I'm missing.
I just received a permanent suspension from eBay (notice reference: MC081 FPA NOTICE B001 - eBay Registration Suspension). What's confusing is that I've barely used the app at all. I've had it for a year and I've never sold anything, never bought anything, I'd just browse listings. I contacted one seller once to ask whether some clothes (literally just a shirt and shorts set) could be shipped and delivered before a specific date because I was hoping I'd wear it on vacation, but the seller never replied and so I didn't order it. No disputes, no payments, no unusual activity (to my knowledge).
When I contacted eBay support, I was told that my account was suspended due to a "risk pattern" and that eBay had decided to "part ways in our mutual interest." They refused to give any specific example, saying they "can't disclose details to prevent policy circumvention". My appeal was denied.
I understand eBay can suspend accounts at their discretion, but I'm struggling to understand what behavior could realistically be considered risky given the lack of activity. Has anyone experienced something similar? If I want to buy something in the future, is it safe to make a new account, or can I manage to recover this one somehow? I’m not trying to bypass any rules, I just want to understand what happened and whether there's anything to be done to fix it.
Thanks in advance to anyone willing to share their experience.
I have not used Ebay in a while. I prefer to meet in person and use Marketplace regularly. This time however I was selling computer components and could not find a buyer locally. I listed the auction on ebay. It lasted 1 week. My buyer won the auction for $150. Ebay charged him $165. Ebay then took money out from me leaving me $123. The buyer paid me immediately, and I shipped the item the next day. This was a week ago. He received the item, but I STILL HAVE NOT BEEN PAID!!!!!! So ebay took $40 dollars from a $150 auction and still have not paid me over a week later!
The interaction with the buyer went great. He won, paid me and I shipped the next morning.
This is all ebay!
Im thinking to get more strategic about the buys I do on ebay next year ( new year resolution crisis i guess). I'm looking for tools that make life easier when looking for electronics and retro games. I use some browser extension but i feel like im scratching the surface here. SO for the OGs what purchases/subscriptions do you wish you didsooner? Especially something thats category specific with fast notifications.feel free todrop your recs, noshill please!
