I know I shouldn't be shocked but this is probably the only one that's legitimate that I've seen since I've been reading these for years. Answer from tally06 on reddit.com

r/mildlyinfuriating on Reddit: Best Buy emailing me every hour about $5
May 31, 2025 -

I’ve been getting emails every hour since this morning from Best Buy about me having a $5 reward they want me to use. I unsubscribed after the first one and they’re still coming. I have every email alert turned off on my Best Buy account other than order updates. I wonder when they’ll stop

Over the past 3 hours I’ve received 4 emails from [email protected] with a $10 coupon. This happening to anyone else? Looks like their mail system may be on the fritz.

r/Bestbuy on Reddit: How do I contact Best Buy Corporate?
May 24, 2021 -

I bought a laptop from Best Buy and I’ve been having a lot of issues. Apparently, the courier lost the package and I’ve been trying to get a replacement or refund. I’ve talked back and forth with Best Buy employees on the phone and I couldn’t get help so I went to the Best Buy in my city and talked with the manager with some help. He said the best thing to do is to contact Best Buy Corporate by email or phone and talk to them about my issue. I’ve been looking all over and I can’t find the email for Corporate. I found 2 phone numbers that contact Corporate but I couldn’t contact them because I didn’t call within the business hours. The next thing I want to do is email them but I can’t find an email for Best Buy Corporate. Does anyone know the email for Best Buy Corporate?

r/Bestbuy on Reddit: Best Buy account issues
September 12, 2023 -

Might be a long shot ask, but here goes....

Does anyone know what steps I can take to resolve an issue that I'm having with my best buy account? The email verification system has not sent to my personal domain for the past few months. So I am unable to manage my rewards, or otherwise mange my account. I've created an alternate bestbuy.com account using a different alias but otherwise exact same email provider/setup, and the verification emails send properly there.

I've tried calling the customer support hotline but am told they have no ability to resolve the issues that they can see in my account. I've tried chat support several times but they keep directing me to the call in support. Apparently there is a mythical corporate IT department that has to resolve this, but despite my several contacts with Best Buy support, I've not been able to get any kind of help. I'm being told that some how my account got duplicated under a different email address using my same phone number and name and those accounts have to be merged, but that in itself seems to be a process in futility because I've requested this be done twice and haven't gotten any progress.

r/Scams on Reddit: Best Buy scam possibly?
March 20, 2025 -

So it looks like an online order for a MacBook was placed under my Best Buy account. I’ve been getting 50 emails every 2 minutes and noticed the Best Buy confirmation. When I logged into my BB account there was nothing ordered on my account. But when I called customer service they said that it was ordered and they cancelled it for me. But I only get email notifications from it and nothing is on the actual account. My credit card was also never even charged, nothing pending or anything. I asked the BB customer service what the last four of the card was and they told me which is how I found out which card it was. Changed BB password a couple times and removed the unknown number from the trusted devices list. Also cancelled the chase card just in case. Any tips? I’m still getting flooded with emails. And the BB the scammer ordered it at is surprisingly my local one right by my house. Just wondering what to do! Thanks :)

November 6, 2020 - I got this too, but if you look at the reply email address it is some bs thing. Isn't that the real address? Best Buy <reply-350-14_HTML-81495393-10972414-4283655@emailinfo2.bestbuy.com> Is the other one like a fake caller ID?

April 6, 2024 - I agree that the practice is sleazy from Best Buy, but I just got the same email about an hour ago and it rendered fine... are you sure this isn't an email client issue or something? It kind of looks like a half-broken forced dark mode or some of the CSS not loaded in.

Just really here to vent. Tired of this, was hacked years ago and the email address was changed. I can't change my email without sending a verification to the email address that hacked me. Whoever was on the other side of the site couldn't help me and had me call customer service..., and the phone rep led me down the same steps. So fucking done with best buy. They couldn't change it so fuck em, had em delete my account better off without them. You lose another customer over shitty support.

Went and bought 4 RAM sticks to upgrade my computer. I asked for an electronic receipt and filled out my email. Now, my email has been flooded with phishing scams that were NEVER an issue prior nor do I give out my email to any random company.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is there something that I can do about it?

r/privacy on Reddit: Best Buy privacy changes
August 14, 2024 -

Just got an e-mail from Best Buy that they're changing their privacy policy. They explicitly say in the email that they will be sharing your information beginning September 1. Of course you can opt out. But here's the catch - the opt out is per-account, per-device/per-app, and needs to be opted out every time you clear your cookies (that's the only way they're saving your opt out, via cookies). I think this is super-scummy. Lots of other companies honor an opt-out without it needing to be repeated constantly. Here's the e-mail:

Hi Best Buy customers,

We’re reaching out to let you know that we’re making updates to our privacy policy that will >go into effect September 1, 2024. These changes are intended to make the policy easier to >read, inform you about updated personal information options, and reflect a future change to >our information-sharing practices.

The language around privacy has changed. A lot.

Over a dozen states have recently enacted new laws, with new terms and new definitions. >We also offer consumers personal information options that didn’t exist until recently. As a >result, we are making changes so that our updated privacy policy provides a refreshed and >revised description of how we will collect, use, and share personal information and the >personal information options we offer. We also provide a State Privacy Rights page to >supplement our privacy policy with the specific requirements of state laws.

We will be changing our information-sharing practices.

At Best Buy, our purpose is to enrich lives through technology. To do that we try to ensure >that you, our customers, receive relevant, personalized information and experiences no >matter how you’re shopping with us. As described in the updated policy and State Privacy >Rights page, we are going to share personal information regarding consumer purchases >made after September 1 with select partners to help better ensure we’re delivering the >information and experiences you want and measuring how well we’re doing. Some of those >partners may use the shared information to improve their interest-based advertising, >independent of Best Buy.

Check out our "Advertising Opt-Outs" page today if you would like to limit this future sharing.

Thank you.

As always, we thank you for being a Best Buy customer and value you and the trust you >place in us.

Sincerely, Best Buy

I'd share a link to the opt-out page but it appears to have a unique tracker. Here's the highlights:

Opt-out cookie: An opt-out cookie will be placed and stored on your browser, for Do Not Sell >purposes, preventing personal information from being made available from this website to >advertising partners for their own use, independent of Best Buy. Only this browser on this device: The opt-out cookie only applies to the browser you were >using and only for the device you were using at the time you made the selection. If you >access Best Buy websites from other browsers or devices, you will also need to make this >selection on each browser and device.

If you delete or clear cookies, you'll need to click the button again the next time you visit to >re-select Do Not Sell. If you delete or clear your cookies, that will delete our opt-out cookie >and you will need to opt-out again.
