FBI Honors Internship
Holy hell I thought the 10 years was a typo but it’s not. I knew the FBI was pretty uptight but that is something else…. Sounds like you’re f’d but might as well apply and see what happens. Never DQ yourself. More on reddit.com

FBI internship?
The pay sucks (if you get paid...A lot are non-paid internships), locations are expensive, hours can be long, but it's very rewarding depending on your supervisor. It's hard to get into due to the extensive background check and possible poly. Need almost a perfect record and be a perfect model citizen. I know they Electrical Engineering positions are very limited and not as interesting as a general security ones and it really depends on location. I know Secret Service can be far more rewarding than FBI, and I know NSA is better for engineering. Source: My colleagues son was a intern at FBI, SS and my classmate worked a co-op at NSA... For my colleague's son, I hear about the bragging and the bitching aspects. More on reddit.com

October 16, 2023 -

Hello,

I am a distinguished graduate student at a top university for International Affairs. It has been my dream to work for the FBI. I am finally ready to submit my application for this years opportunity, but I read something that may disqualify me. According to the FBI Honors internship requirements website:https://fbijobs.gov/eligibility#fbieligibility

Of the requirements, these are critical:

Have not used any illegal drug within last ten (10) years preceding the date of the application for employment. Additionally, candidates cannot have sold, distributed, manufactured, or transported any illegal drug or controlled substance without legal authorization.

During my first year of undergrad, before I hadn't realized I wanted to do anything with the government, on one occasion I sent (5) 10mg tablets of (prescribed) Adderall to a friend in the mail for free.(2 years, 6 months ago)

On a few other occasions, maybe 3 total, a friend of mine needed Adderall before his script was up, so I gave him some of mine and he gave me some of his later. (1 year ago)

And lastly, before I was prescribed Adderall, a few of mine friends would have LAN parties (local area network, computer game parties) where I tried Adderall a few times, this happened maybe 5-7 times total. (3-5 years ago)

I've been off Adderall for about 6 months now. But I am worried this history is enough to disqualify me based off my character/history.

What do you guys think?
