FiiO X1 II (2nd Gen) w/ Bluetooth! | Page 71 | Headphone Reviews and Discussion - Head-Fi.org
September 10, 2016 - But in exchange I get an open and more accurate representation of the music which is actually a whole lot more enjoyable when you listen to the music. To really tell you I would have to listen to more songs with a critical ear, maybe a review will follow later on. I think if I were you I'd take the 2nd gen x1.

THE X1 2ND GEN DAP BY FIIO-FIIO---BORN FOR MUSIC
The X1 2G comes packed with a 1800mAh 3.7v Li-Polymer Lithium battery which is slightly bigger than the older X1’s 1700mAh battery. The slight increase in size gives a marginal increase in performance also with a rated 12 hours playback for the 2nd gen compared to 11 for the first gen for ...

Is FiiO X1 2nd Gen worth it?
I have a similar setup, se215, galaxy s7, and fiio x1(1st gen). Personally I dislike using my phone for music, with the exception of Bluetooth in the car. I just like having it separate, so I can do things on my phone and not be bothered with notifications, or other assorted noises, ect. Also I feel like the 215s are a bit underpowered from the phone, especially regarding the bass. The x1 is a bit cleaner, and the extra power really helps. As a side note I recently upgraded to the x3, and can safely say that there isn't much of a sound difference between the two. (btw my x1 is for sale, if you're interested. I don't want to sound like I'm trying to sell you on it, it just happens to be the case) It's a personal preference thing as to whether or not you go with a player or a dac amp for the phone, but at the end of the day I would definitely recommend one or the other. Oh okay. I see what I did wrong. Windows kept giving me a security warning, and I was supposed to bypass it by "download anyway." Thanks

r/BudgetAudiophile on Reddit: Is FiiO X1 2nd Gen worth it?
December 14, 2016 -
Currently, I am using Shure-SE215, FiiO E11 and Galaxy S7 as my daily driver. I am actually satisfied with current combination, but I wonder if I will get a better experience if I change my Galaxy S7 to FiiO x1 2nd gen as my audio player. Or is it better to get a new headphone amp rather than FiiO X1?

If you don't use music streaming services, look at it this way, would you rather carry a bulky-ish Phone/DAC/AMP combo with wires sticking out, and have to deal with your phone running out of battery faster, or carry a DAP in one pocket and a charged phone in the other? If audio quality is the issue I can guarantee you won't lose any. On the contrary. Might even get better audio. On the other hand, if you're happy with what you have, why change? It's up to you really...

Sick of my Fiio X1 2nd Gen. Cheap upgrade options? | Headphone Reviews and Discussion - Head-Fi.org
October 11, 2017 - Although I like the sound of my Fiio X1 2nd Gen, I'm sick of its slow transfer rate, lag and general bugginess. I want out! I'd like to know if there's a cheap DAP (under AUD$300 - that's in dollaroos) that sounds better and it's not filled with bugs. The X3 ii seems to have similar issues to the X1 ii and it appears to have the same DAC too, so that's off the table.

The front portion and button layout somehow looks similar than the previous one, but the 2nd gen offers a slimmer, lighter body with curve edges. The new X1-II features Bluetooth connection, better DAC chip, and Fiio has replaced the mechanical wheel with a touch wheel.

FiiO X1 Review — Headfonics
October 10, 2018 - The recent launch of the X1 by FiiO sort of completes the “Holy Trinity” of FiiO digital audio players with the existing but slightly aged mid-level X3 and their flagship X5 DAP receiving largely positive praise and selling pretty strongly to date. Both have been competing indirectly but never officially with the Ibasso DX50 and DX90 at similar capability and price ranges.
