I’ve been incorporating cantilevered vanities in my projects (in-house custom built) and I find they bring a lot of positives. One feature that makes mine stand above competition is that I also incorporate 3k or 4k LED strip lighting under them. That custom stone top must weigh at least 250#. If it supported by a cabinet, you should put some metal legs under it. All you can now with out ripping it apart. I'm guessing someone told you/contractor/designer this was a potential problem when installing or designing. If they didn't, I wouldn't use them again. More on reddit.com

I never knew floating vanities were even controversial until I started exploring interior decorating online and hearing from Americans. At least in Scandinavia they’re the standard, why would you ever put legs on them that you have to navigate around when washing the floor?
