r/startups on Reddit: Where can I get good (free) company emails for my team?
May 16, 2015 -

Hello entrepreneurs, My team (of about 15) and I really want to get decent email adresses. We already have a website domain which should make things pretty easy. I tried google Apps but they are asking some ridiculous £30 a month just for the service, and quite frankly we dont feel it is worth it.

Does anyone know of any free and efficient ways of getting emails??

Thank you

EDIT: Just a clarification, we are a sort of university based society that has no real income so cant afford to spend money on emails :)

r/Entrepreneur on Reddit: I want to create my own email for my company, and possibly a VERY basic website.
August 5, 2019 -

I have a small company that doesn't require any web presence, however I communicate with clients and I think it'll be more professional to have a real email [[email protected] instead of [email protected]]

I've worked for companies that provided me a company email that I accessed through gmail, which is amazing. I found this link through google. https://digital.com/blog/create-email-using-gmail/

is this the correct way to do it? Forward all emails from my company to my gmail?

Also I want to create a really simple, super cheap landing page just so when people click on mycompany.com it doesn't just go to nothing. Do you guys have any recommended, inexpensive ways to purchase a domain and create a website for someone with 0 website design capabilities?

Thank you!!

Edit: thank you for all of your replies!!! I am so appreciative. I didn't want to spam every single reply with a thank you so just one big giant thank you! I'm going to read through all the suggestions this week!

r/Entrepreneur on Reddit: Setting up a new business: What's the best free email and calendar account with custom domain?
January 9, 2022 -

Hello!

I am struggling to find what I need, and I am thinking that actually the service I am looking for does not exist for free.

I am setting up a business and am looking for a free email and calendar hosting service that allow me to also use my custom domain.

Above that, it would be nice to have the ability to use third-party apps like Gmail, Outlook or Mail (iOS), but mainly Gmail because that's where my personal email is.

I think this is a lot to ask for free and couldn't find a service yet that has all these things together. So far I came accross:

Hostinger: free, up to 100 accounts, but it seems to not have the calendar functionality. If anyone knows how to "solve" this, I would appreciate.

Zoho: free, up to 5 accounts, has email and calendar, but I can't connect it to third-party apps (correct me if I'm wrong).

Thanks! Would love to hear your inputs.

r/webhosting on Reddit: Any web/email hosting for free?
December 29, 2021 -

Hello guys. My mother is starting a business and we already have a domain but I am searching for a free hosting which there are a few ones but I noticed that none of them have the ability to host an email. The only I can do is park a domain but when I go to email section the only thing I can do is like redirect an existing email to other. No other way to create an email from the existing domain. Should I buy a hosting instead? Otherwise I have the possibility to buy only an email hosting from the domain provider. Thank you.

Hello,

anyone knows how to get a free domain? if you signup for GitHub Education you can but I'm 39 now :(. there's also one company from NL called Freenom (https://www.freenom.com) that proposes one. I was curious to know if someone had another idea. I'm also interested of having an email address associated with the site.

r/smallbusiness on Reddit: Best email solution for small business
September 17, 2018 -

I work for a small business (4 employees) and our current email setup is no longer working for us. Background info: we are currently using email service (POP3) from our webhost with Microsoft Outlook as mail clients. Our clients email us documents to work on and once the project is completed, we return the finished files back to the client via email. We typically receive +/- 1000 emails/month and those emails are exported to a PST file on a regular basis. We need to be able to look at old emails in case a client has a question about a project we completed (i.e. “Employee is no longer with the company, can you send us the original work request”, “Who gave approval to start the project”, etc.). When a client is looking for an old email, I load the PST for the month in question and close the PST once I’m done.

Because we have a shared webhost, the server IP gets blacklisted a few times per year (caused by other users on the server and unrelated to our usage), which results in much grief when trying to communicate with clients and typically takes weeks to resolve. We are ready to move on and I am looking for options that better suit our needs, which are the following (in order of priority):

  1. Access emails remotely (not tied to a specific workstation) and have a great webui and/or mobile apps (need to be able to file emails using folders or tags/labels)

  2. Not have to deal with email blacklisting

  3. Shared mailbox between employees for certain emails (i.e. [email protected], [email protected], etc.)

  4. Keep costs reasonable (under $50/month)

  5. If possible - ability to backup emails locally on company fileserver

Further details: in addition to our domain, we also manage a few other domains for clients (same webhost) and we are also looking to move the email service for these domains to the email solution we will be choosing. For example, the emails for these domains would include [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], [email protected], etc. (about a dozen emails or so). These email addresses could be set up as aliases or shared mailboxes instead of separate accounts in order to keep costs down.

I’ve looked at a few options:

  • G Suite

  • Office 365

  • Zoho

  • FastMail

  • Rackspace

  • MXRoute

  • Mailcheap

Zoho seemed promising due to features offered and cost. In addition, being able to keep personal emails (Gmail) and work emails (Zoho) separate on mobile devices by using different apps was appealing. However I saw a number of forum posts/reviews where Zoho customers ran into blacklisting issues.

With everyone in the office being Gmail users, we already know what to expect with G Suite and having only 4 users would mean costs would be affordable at $20/month ($5 per user). A concern I have is how we’ll organize the email addresses for the domains we manage.

I’m leaning towards G Suite, but wondering if there are other services I should consider prior to making a decision. Is my worry about blacklisting on Zoho unfounded?

r/selfhosted on Reddit: Free or minimum cost business email without having a domain?
January 13, 2025 - Gmail apparently has a free business tier with no custom domain support, everybody uses @gmail.com addresses but there's some level of central organization and control, I think, as opposed to everyone just using personal accounts.
