Costco does sell lower end mattresses mostly, but its also true that the price they charge for what you are getting is quite fair. Take the Avocado Organic as an example. Its $1200 and a nicer mattress than the Avocado Eco which retails for $1300. The Costco Tempur supreme which is supposed to be comparable to the entry line Tempur Adapt retails for $1900 in queen, while the Tempur Adapt is $2200 in Queen. Then probably the most egregious is the Costco Leesa Legend which is basically the same mattress as the one from Leesa's website, except it retails for $1050 vs $2600. Now sure the Leesa is intended to always be on sale basically, but still that just drops it down to around $2k usually. What really sells mattresses at Costco though is their return policy. Nobody offers a no hassle return like they do. If 5 years from now you dont like your mattress anymore they arnt going to send people out to measure and look for stains and other reasons to deny you a warranty, they arnt going to charge you return fees and such while only allowing store credit forcing you to get another mattress through them.
