More on reddit.comWhat is a really good store to buy superior quality Home Furniture from? Also, what time of the year is the best for great deals (on Furniture such as for bed room, sofas, living room etc.)
Furniture quality is such a subjective topic. Some people consider a $1000 bonded leather sofa set from The Brick as "quality". Others will easily drop $4K on a dining set at C&B and be happy with their purchase for 20 years... then there's the real furniture snobs who only want collectible like Carl Hansen or Herman Miller and will easily spend $5K-$7K on a chair and $20K on a couch. Truly heir loom stuff.
In short: it's all up to you. I like saving for some heir loom pieces and most C&B-level items, but to each their own.... just really, really don't go near Leon's, The Brick, Ashley... if you go cheap, go full cheap with Ikea.
Also, learn about materials: is that couch bonded leather, full grain leather, corrected grain, or semi-aniline leather? Makes a HUGE difference in quality (and cost). How is that fabric rated on the martindale index? Is that sofa frame made out of MDF or is it kiln-dried hardwood with T&G (edit: should have said mortise & tenon) joints? Makes a HUGE difference in quality (and cost)... if the salesperson doesn't know, walk away.
More on reddit.comCan anyone vouch for good stores that sell nice looking Canadian made furniture? I need an option for online delivery.
Furthermore also any places that can do custom furniture (e.g. I provide the sketch, measurements etc. for custom objects) that don't completely rip you off or break the bank.
I want minimum exposure to cheaply made overpriced Chinese crap.
EQ3 made my couch and ottoman in 2013 and they’re still going on strong. Can’t recommend them enough. Got the Salema sofabed option and the mattress is probably in the mid-range of comfortability.
For beds, this company builds them in Ontario from Quebec birch trees. Plus the beds are really cool designs. They were selling them at Costco at one point, not sure if they still do, but at least before the pandemic they were very affordable. Also just need a mattress for these, no box springs.
