I feel like they have declined in quality over the years, especially since Fandom acquired them. There's a lot of game news they don't report on, there's annoying fullscreen ads any time I click an article, their moderation sucks, and they've been inaccurate on quite a few occasions. I'm not sure which sites are considered good nowadays.

I think they're primarily a YouTube channel but I love gameranx. Their "before you buy" videos are great.

If you're looking for daily news with a stream of plausible leaks and rumors Video Games Chronicle is a good place to start. If you're looking for an industry newswire with a focus on developers and publishers, Game Developer is a safe bet. If you just want a familiar brand with a more magazine-like approach, Game Informer is also back. Other than that, if you're looking for a site that focuses almost exclusively on Japanese games, Gematsu is a personal favorite.

Best gaming news sites?
In my opinion, forums/reddit are way better than full fledge gaming sites. There's just more contributing conversation within these channels. Heck, more and more gaming sites are crediting reddit posts for making up "news" on a slow day. Lots of industry vets on neogaf too. More on reddit.com
