Release it already ffs. Every second we use our PCs without this, our CPUs are degrading. The fact Gigabyte doesn't have it out yet and is letting their customers' cpus fry makes me wonder if this should be my last gb purchase.
EDIT: Asus has it out now too. Joke is on those of us who trusted Gigabyte. Our CPUs could die any second.
I'm attempting to run COD, but this keeps popping up. What are the steps I need to take to update my PC?
Update:
Here is what the PDF is instructing me to do.
BIOS Flash SOP
-
Download the BIOS file from the GIGABYTE website and unzip it to the root directory of
the bootable USB flash drive
2. Use the USB flash drive to boot the system in EFI shell mode.
3. In EFI shell mode, your screen will look like the following figure. First, please confirm
which disk code is the USB flash drive you want to use
4. Please key in "FS0:" and press [Enter]
The instructions are shown in red: Shell> FS0:
5. Please key in "Flash.nsh" to execute the Batch file and press [Enter]
The instructions are shown in red:FS0:\> flash.nsh
6. After that, the BIOS status will be confirmed, and the system will reboot while the
process is completed
7. Do not remove the USB flash drive. After the system restarts, the BIOS update process
will begin (the screen is as follows). Please wait patiently. After the update is completed,
the system will restart to complete the entire process.
I have a Z790 AORUS ELITE X WIFI7 revision 1.0 and I am wondering if this BIOS released for it by Gigabyte includes this new microcode as on the download page it still says 0x12B in the description?

Introduce microcode 0x12B as it further improves system conditions that can potentially contribute to Vmin Shift Instability on Intel Core 13th and 14th Gen desktop-powered systems
Intel released again a new microcode update to investigate in stability and degradation issues of the 13th and 14th gen Intel processors. The new microcode is called 0x12B.
Today Gigabyte released the long awaited BIOS for all Z690 motherboards including the Intel Default Settings and all the latest microcode to fix the fast degradation of CPUs.
And the second good news: it's not anymore a beta release! The version numbers lose their letter, which means they are stable releases. So it should be safe to update for anyone.
My experience with the BIOS Update
My Gigabyte Z690 Aorus Ultra got the BIOS F29. I've installed it some hours ago with a USB drive. Previously I used F27, so this is my first version with the Intel Default Settings. In my experience, F29 is working pretty well. The XMP profile loaded fast and works reliable (DDR5-6000 1.35V). My computer is in use for some hours and I haven't experienced any crash or bug. For me, that's a great and stable release.
Just one weird thing I hadn't before: the Windows boot animation now includes the BIOS Keys at the bottom. That's weird. Does your motherboard also shows this behavior?
And as always it's just a little annoying that each BIOS update resets the TPM. So Windows hello needs a reconfig, same as WhatsApp for some reason. It may occur that your Windows gets deactivated, depending on the key you used.
Intel Default Settings
Although the microcode updates fixed important bugs and the Intel Default Settings are a safe to use, I don't like them.
Because the voltage is now much higher than with the Gigabyte Default Profile. In my opinion, Intel made the voltage consumptions a bit higher, so that already degraded CPUs don't crash (anymore).
Personally, I will either undervolt the Intel Default Settings tomorrow, or switch back to the Gigabyte Default ones. Because at least on this Z690 motherboard, they are totally safe with a manual power limit. And the longevity of CPUs with less voltage should be even bigger. At least my 13700k is in good conditions and also worked fine with -50mv less voltage.
I may have missed it, but is the microcode update released? I keep checking through GCC, but I don’t see anything and can’t really find anything on the website. I know it was stated at the end of August, but wanted to see if anyone else was able to update. Thanks!
Will there be a microcode update with a new bios on the Aorus Z890 boards? We've been on a beta bios for a couple or months now (F16c) and was thinking maybe a new stable one would be nice. If not... would it be safe to flash back to a previous stable version or should I just remain on the latest?
Since other manufacturers just released the BIOS update for the New Intel microcode 0x12B. When our Gigabyte Mainboards receive that new Microcode update too?
Z790 Aorus Elite AX DDR5
I have a new version of the bios available for my Aorus B550 pro AC, F16g replaces F16d, 1.2.0.B with probably the correction of the EDC bug which was not yet available in F16d (not 1.2.0.A).
I'll see if I also have a new interface on AM4 when I install and try it.
Cool, wonder if they'll upgrade my x570
