So basically I have a landscaping business and I've been trying for some time to get my business account verified. The only option I have for verification is the video. The video asks for three things...
Location should match your Business Profile (Ex. street sign, nearby businesses, surrounding area). I live on a private dirt road with no formal street sign, there's no nearby businesses.
Your business name and category should match your Business Profile (Ex. business card, branded vehicle, business tools/equipment). This shouldn't be an issue.
You're authorized to represent this business (unlocking branded vehicle, operating online business tools, proof of address). My work vehicle is not branded. What are online tools? Like my spreadsheets?? Proof of address, like a utility bill or driver's license?
The main problem I've been having, besides the ones I mentioned, is that the video never uploads. I take the video on my phone as best I can, it tries to upload then tells me video fails to upload. I've tried all the different troubleshooting techniques they offer but I just want to talk to a person about this. Is there no number I can call? No video chat?
Hi, I often run into problems with my GBP. I recently moved addresses and attempted to change the address on my profile. I completed the video verification, maybe a month ago? It shows that my address is "verified" but when I go to Edit Profile > Location, it says that the address is "Pending" and it is not displaying publicly.
It seems that they have made it impossible to contact them about this. No phone number or chat options. I have sent two emails but have gotten the following auto-reply:
"Thanks for contacting us about your Business Profile on Google. From the info you shared, we’re not sure of your exact issue, but here are solutions to the most common issues:...This email doesn’t allow replies. For additional help try the following" with no other follow-up.
It is easy to get frustrated by this, but like every issue in running a small business - I'll get past it and learn from it. Just an annoying hurdle.
Side note but as a small business, it is frustrating that Google just doesn't care at all about customer service because they just don't have to. There's nothing I can say to damage their business and there's no alternative I can choose over Google Business Profile. I'm a paying customer and give them money monthly through Google Workspace, LSA's, and Google Ads. But that's just a complaint, not really the point of the post.
