The real problem is that some people get refunded and some don't! There is no equality! There are plenty of whales that spend 5k$+ and defeated and destroyed all content, including taking spots in leaderboards and took all event prizes. But still got refunded in full! As the subject states, I submitted a Google Play refund but it got denied. I reached out to Google Play Services, and they mentioned to reach out to the App developers, Crunchyroll. I sent them an email with the details but I have a strong feeling they're going to ignore it/reject it entirely.

Can I go to my Credit Card company and dispute the charge? Anyone else have any experience with this?

Yes, you can go to the credit card company have them stop payment. Most companies will do it without asking too many questions, but you will need to provide a reason such card being stolen. At which point, it that would be considered credit card fraud. You are unlikely to ever get audited, but be mindful that you will have to lie to your credit card company to get your money back. According to CR TOS - or basically any downloadable game TOS - refunds are not permitted so you are not entitled for a refund and they don't even have to look at your claim. CR did in some ways manipulate their TOS for their own benefit, but they also did not violate their own TOS. So really, there is no foot to stand on regardless of how jaded you feel. Whatever you tell your credit card company would be a lie and therefore is fraud. Also keep in mind, most credit card companies may only issue these type of stop charge once and only once. If you try it more, they may begin to audit or straight up cancel you card as well. In the long run, it could also hurt your credit score if you do attempt these type of charge backs too many times. Overall, if you didn't spend a ton of money, this likely isn't the sword to fall on.

Hello! Google play automatically purchased a one-year subscription that I thought I cancelled, I submites a ticket yesterday and this is the response I got, I read that the funds get sent back to my online banking account within 1-5 business days, but it isn't clarified in the response email, my subscription status on Google play says expired. Will I be getting a refund? Or should I contact the developer?

I need help please. I recently tried a free trial on an editing app and forgot about it so then I was charged. I reached out to the app's email but they won't reply to me. I also requested a refund with Google Play an hour later that I was charged with a reason of 'accidental purchase' or something like that. I was left with this. I also contacted google play support and reported 'unauthorized transaction' and they said it is currently under review. Am I doomed? I need help 😭

Also, I don't understand google play's policy at all. In their policy states something that you are responsible for your account but then why would they put the 'accidental purchase' option? I'm literally shitting my pants rn I need the money back.

June 30, 2025 -

Bought something through an app that didn’t work as expected.

I requested a refund within 1 hour of purchase β€” well within their official refund window.

It’s now been 5 days, and all I’ve gotten is a circus:

β†’ Google Play denied the refund, told me to contact the developer
β†’ Developer said Google handles all refunds
β†’ Went back to Google with proof, and now they say β€œcontact your bank” if the payment already went through

I haven’t even gone to the bank yet β€” I’m just exhausted from being passed around like a refund football.

I followed all the right steps, even stayed in the time limit, and they’re still not helping.

Has anyone else dealt with this? Is this how Google Play handles refunds now?

So I spent 50$ on a digital product that never showed up(I gave it 24 hours) and requested a refund from googleplay. So they reviewed my refund and after a day they said the review was complete with a part that says I'd be refunded usually after 3-5 business days for credit/debit card transaction, which mine was. My question is at the bottom it says that the status is "not yet refunded". Does that mean my request for refund was denied? Or does that mean I have to wait till the money reaches my account and then the status will change to "refunded"?

Hi all, I'm a fairly new player who has spent about Β£55 in the last month over several purchases. I went through the Google Play Store app to see about getting some refunds, as I never expected the game to sunset this soon. Besides some captchas, they automatically refunded all my purchases one by one. I would recommend doing the same if you can and don't want to wait on the Bethesda updates.

I don't exactly know where to go on this but basically, auto-renewal hit me like a truck for this subscription service that I was only trying out. Then it took $51 so I immediately went and got me a refund but when I checked my account after I got the email saying it was approved, the money never showed up. It's been hours and I usually get the money back instantly. What do I do?

Edit: Forgot to add when I checked it said canceled.

I got a email from Google saying they approved my refund and have refunded me the money but it hasn't shown up in my chase bank account yet. Before it showed as payment pending when I asked for a refund, but when they approved the refund, the payment pending went through and charged me. Both developer of the app and Google say I got the refund but it didn't show up for me. Any ideas?

r/googleplay on Reddit: How to get refunded
August 17, 2025 -

Yesterday I was charged approximately 68.82 USD. Now this may seem like little amount to you but to me it is big. This money was to be used for my college midterm examinations fee.

Now yesterday when I got charged I immediately sent a refund request to both google and the developer. Now the developer wishes to help me however I have not received any more replies back from him, Google also I have not received an email, now this made me into a panic frenzy. I searched countless tutorials on YouTube but to no avail. Do you know who was the big help? ChatGPT. Yes, he helped me through this problem. What he did was he recommended me to a live agent on Google play store. That agent specified that they cannot help you with the refund request however they can cancel your subscription. But if that was God's grace the agent probably did something that made my refund request get accepted immediately. Now that made me think was she saw pity in me and approved it and helped me? If yes and I thank her for it

This is to make you feel that when requesting refunds from your subscription especially from a free trial you were not made aware of, you shouldn't be panic and seek for help with their live agent.

How to seek help?

Go to play store - click your profile in the top right corner - Select help & feedback - Contact us - Enter the specified problem like refund and wait for your queue.

Don't be scared, there's usually no people seeking for help so you would immediately get served just like I did. I was first in queue. Now specify your problem and be compassionate and sincere to the agent. Who knows it might be the same as mine who helped me get my refund approved immediately so I can finally pay for my midterm examination. And what's funny? My examination is 2 hours away.

Good luck to everyone out there.
