I've searched a lot and am not really finding any comparison or ability to see the similarities or differences between the two of these. On Amazon at the time of posting this, the Outdoor light 2 is $299 USD for 100 feet. The Pro is $309 USD for 100 feet. The original version is $279 USD for 100 feet. Any comparison or key differences that make a $10 price difference matter?

Looking at getting outdoor lights. It seems like a lot of people here have the outdoor pro instead of the outdoor lights 2. Are the outdoor lights 2 not very good?

Like most things, its a matter of personal preference and how you plan on using them. I installed the Pros last year and have the played a bit with the Govee 2s. Overall the Govee 2 are a decent step up from the original Govee non-pro lights, brighter and the dedicated white channels help both for the white light and power efficiency. That said I would say the Pro produce a nicer white, to my eyes at least. On the other hand, if you plan to use the lights mainly for colored illumination, the white may not matter much to you. The Govee 2s have more lights per foot than the pros, and some people prefer having more light cones. The Pros are a little brighter per light, 50LM vs 40LM at max brightness. The Pros also come with Splicing hardware which makes cutting them to size easier. If I was going to do a new install today, I would still go Pro because I rely on them to light my walkway at night, so use the white light daily. So for my use they are better. That said, my parents want to install lights this year and after looking at both decided to go with the Govee 2, and I didn't try to dissuade them.

I just installed the first series and they are bright!! I can’t imagine series 2 or the pros being even brighter - my one neighbour will be so annoyed already!

I'm getting ready to install my govee permanent outdoor lights pro and I'm a bit nervous. My question is, how well do the lights hold up long term? My neighbor had some installed and they either fell down or he took them down. I don't want to use just the 3m take that comes with it so I'm looking for more secure ways to attach the lights. I've seen people 3d printing mounting brackets and have considered that. What are the recommendations for the most secure way to install the lights, and also how well are your lights holding up?

FWIW I installed mine in October. I used the 3m and the clips to screw into the soffit, it was cold when I did it and the tape worked but I wasn’t convinced it would hold. I ended up at the local Home Depot and bought more clips that were similar. I didn’t want to have to go back up and fix them, a bit of belt and suspenders approach. They haven’t moved but 1 of the 3 strings is giving me an issue, one light will work intermittently, not at all or stay on, the others are just dead. Now I have to troubleshoot that.

Do not just use the 3M sticker on the light. It’s a permanent light for a reason. Go the extra mile and grab cheap clips on Amazon to install next to each light. Mine have been up for a year. 0 issues.
