May 1, 2024Has anyone done a detailed comparison of grocery prices in common stores?
A lot of it depends on what you purchase. Staple items will generally be pretty competitive. Higher profile brands should also be fairly close. If you're buying more niche items, you'll see a bigger disparity across stores. Also, don't compare a Metro (Conventional) to Walmart (Discount). The discount banners will be pretty consistently cheaper than the conventional stores. If you're already shopping at No Frills you likely won't see much difference shopping elsewhere. App is easy to use.One suggestion for the developers is to provide the cheapest product first in given category in the search results. For an example, if search for 2% reduce fat milk, app should give the cheapest option as the first result rather than providing the all the brand of milk.

I’m on the NW side of Chicago. Aldi tends to have the best prices unless your bulk buying (although I’ve had some issues with quality), Costco can be a nightmare to get in & out, and Jewel is kinda pricy.
