April 22, 2023 - It has the organic, analog R2R sound that I love, with a very capable and flexible amp section. The overall sound is refined but lively, without any harshness anywhere in the spectrum. I haven’t yet done a head-to-head comparison with my beloved Mojo2, but I’m certain that the RS8 would come out on top in all respects.

March 18, 2024 - While FiiO’s M17 and xDuoo’s XD05 PRO were barely squeezing into my jeans, the R8 II goes in and out without a hitch. If you’re familiar with HiBy’s layout, then RS8 would feel at home as you’ll need exactly one minute to figure out all of its buttons, inputs, and outputs and I wish other DAP manufacturers offered the same (short) learning curve.
