Is it safe to add bank account to Google Pay?
Google Pay hides your payment details, like your card number, throughout the transaction and keeps you safe from fraudulent activities and any form of security breach. Also, this app is protected by your phone's security pattern and code, along with your UPI PIN. Therefore, no one can access this app from your phone without this information. Thus, Google Pay is a safe app to link your bank account with and go ahead with online transactions.

r/googlepay on Reddit: Help with adding bank account
July 28, 2024 -

I'm looking on Google Wallet everywhere and nowhere does there seem to be an option to add a bank account. I've already connected a card, and all sites are saying that I should see something under my profile saying 'Bank account' that I can use to, well, add and manage a bank account. That doesn't exist. Am I looking somewhere wrong? I've sorted through a dozen sub-menus and it's nowhere. Please help, thank you.

r/GoogleWallet on Reddit: Link to bank account instead of card?
March 24, 2025 -

Unfortunately, my card has been cancelled as the info was stolen. It was my only card and I'm likely going to be spending money in the next few days.

Is there anyways I can setup google wallet with a bank account? I currently do not have a card but do have money in the bank. As of right now I would have to make a cash withdrawal in person at the bank, which is not ideal.

I believe there used to be a way with Google pay. But thats not around anymore. Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: In case anyone finds this looking for an answer. Fr Pay pal did not work for me. I believe I had to either wait a few days after linking my bank account to PayPal, or upload a card. It would work if you're willing to wait, but at that point you can just get a new card in like 2 more days.

2 weeks ago - All linked accounts must use the same mobile number registered with Google Pay for verification. Banks sometimes charge SMS fees during the setup process. Additionally, banks have different UPI transaction limits, so select accounts based on your usage needs. It is also recommended to remove any closed or inactive accounts to avoid confusion.
