You have 7 days to accept the payment. When you change the method of accepting payments, it updates on all your devices. If someone sends you money in Messages and you don't have Apple Cash set up, you'll see Accept in the message.

There’s this lady on a Facebook group I’m in saying that someone stole money from her debit card. Someone used the example of them recently paying someone with their card by tapping it on the back of the iPhone. I asked but haven’t gotten a response, when paying with a DEBIT card by tapping the back of the phone, does it require a pin? I understand credit cards can bypass all that but the op specifically said debit card.

So person to person payments via Apple Pay require a bank account or debit card. Typically debit cards are linked for that. Apple Pay allows tap to pay where you can tap your phones together to initiate a payment process. But that’s not the end of it. You have to select which account, sending or receiving, and how much. It also does not require a pin because it requires Face ID to authorize the action. So someone tapping their phone to yours won’t transfer money out by itself. You would need to interact with it for the process to complete.
