r/DIY on Reddit: Help! New fire pit
November 10, 2023 -

We just installed pavers in our backyard and were given a “free fire pit” by our contractor. As you can see it’s just stacked pavers on top of pavers. Before I start lighting fires in it what do I need? I’ve seen videos on removing lower bricks and putting an insert in with holes drilled along the top to make it smokeless but what about the base? What else am I missing here? Lava rocks? A base? Am I overthinking or under thinking this? Any and all advice is welcome and THANK YOU in advance for the help!
