Calculating p-value in excel
My guess is that this is not suitable for t-test but is for chi square test. However, we need to know the research hypothesis. Are you testing whether condition is independent of variable? For instance, for Blue there are 23/27 having condition 1 and 4/27 having condition 2. However, for Toad there are 5/20 having condition 1 and 15/20 having condiiton 2. It would seem that the proportion having condition 1 or 2 depends on whether the variable is Blue or Toad. That means that you're testing for equal proportions and whether the proportion is independent of the variable. This is appropriate for chi square test. Here's an appropriate web search . Try here and here . More on reddit.com

Why would you need an F-test here? A simple independent samples t-test will do the job just fine. EDIT: You probably mean Levene's test which is basically an ANOVA using the distances from the mean as the DV and therefore uses an F-statsitic. Yeah you seem to have done it right More on reddit.com

October 6, 2024 - A p-value is a number between 0 and 1, but it’s easier to think about them as percentages (i.e. a p-value of 0.05 is 5%). Small p-values (generally under 5%) usually lead you to reject the null hypothesis. Step 1: Calculate your expected value. The expected value in chi-square is found by dividing your counts (the number of responses or data items) by the number of categories. There are twelve categories (zodiac signs) in the question, so: 29 + 24 + 22 + 19 + 21 + 18 + 19 + 20 + 23 + 18 + 20 + 23 = 256 256 / 12= 21.333 · Step 2: Type your data into columns in Excel.
