I experiance that the head set easily connected with my Samsung TV. But the sound is staccato like broken in blits of sound, silence, sound, silence and that is quite annoying. Works fine with my Apple pbone though. Answer from Disco on bestbuy.com

You can connect Bluetooth® devices such as headphones or speakers and enjoy TV sound through those devices if the TV supports the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP). Check the device specifications, TV settings, or compatible model list for more information. Note: We don't guarantee operation with all Bluetooth audio devices. Check the specifications of your device on the model support page to confirm if your TV and headphones, speakers, or soundbar supports the A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile) Bluetooth profile.

r/SonyHeadphones on Reddit: Have trouble connecting XM4 or XM5 to Samsung TV via Bluetooth? Read this!
January 12, 2023 -

Hey there,

so yesterday I was shocked that I wasn't able to connect my XM4 headphone to my Samsung TV anymore. I searched the internet for a solution and found out, that I am not the only one facing the same issue:

https://us.community.samsung.com/t5/QLED-and-The-Frame/Samsung-TV-Q70A-Bluetooth-pairing-crash-with-sony-headset-wh/td-p/2459888

Factory reset of both devices didn't work and changing settings on the Sony mobile app had no effect. My Sony app setting is priorizing a stable connection instead of sound quality, but that didn't help. There was nothing I could do to make my XM4 working on my Samsung TV.

So I tried something that noone would probably normally to. I paired my old EP650 bluetooth headphone with my TV and while being connected to it I connected my XM4 to my TV, accepting the notification message that popped up, that says the bluetooth device is going to change. After this direct switch from my old headphones to the XM4 the problem was gone.

Shutdown my XM4 reconnected again > no crash while pairing Shutdown my TV and reconnected my XM4 > no crash while pairing

I hope this solution will work for other people too.

EDIT:

Here is a better solution OkSam pointed out here in the comments (disable hfp support for bluetooth):

  1. Download Samsung remote app from your app store

  2. connect your smartphone and tv into the same wlan

  3. enter mute 1 + 1 + 9 to enter the service menu

  4. enter 1+2+3+4 to get into the submenu

  5. FMS > MRT Option > set com.samsung/featureconf/bluetooth.hfp_support to false

  6. Enjoy

The Samsung UN55MU630DF lacks built-in Bluetooth, so Sony WH-RF400 RF headphones require a compatible transmitter. Since the TV has no direct audio output for wireless RF, use an external Bluetooth or RF transmitter connected via the TV’s optical or headphone jack.

Solved! - I have a new Samsung Smart TV and bought Sony WH-RF400 wireless headphones. Won't connect... | Tom's Guide Forum
December 9, 2018 - You wouldn't get sound if the TV wasn't sending any to the transmitter. The transmitter for those headphones has an analog audio input. Does you TV have an analog audio output? Most don't and the connectors for an audio input are the same as for an output. If there is a TV audio output you may need to turn it on in the TV menu system.
