I've had my V8 for a few years now and it is still going strong. However, one thing that bothers me is the dust explosion (okay, maybe a bit hyperbolic, but you get what I mean) when emptying the canister.... it triggers my Monica OCD and I have to vacuum all over the explosion site again.
I was wondering if you have any tricks or tips on how to best empty the vacuum with minimal rebound dust - assuming you can't do it outside and it has to be indoors. Currently, I take a bag and wrap it around the emptying lid best I can it so that it all falls directly into "closed" the bag. It kinda works but is also sort of a hassle - I am going to try using a rubber-band or something around it next time and see if that works to make it even more easier, lol. So while that strategy "works", I was curious if anyone else has their own tactic... though I might be making a fuss out of nothing here.
All that being said, as much as I love my Dyson, I am probably going to switch to a bagged vacuum next time. I had the same issue with my older Roomba (emptying it = dust everywhere) and changing to a bagged auto-empty dock was one of the best cleaning decisions since actually buying a robot vacuum.
Owners of a V11 cordless vac, how much force is needed to empty the canister bin? so I hold the red lever (which seems more of a lever than operating anything) but to empty i need to push down really hard and sort of wiggle it down. I think something is sticking, like maybe the rubber before the engine.
Anyone had this, fixed this?
Are there any tricks for emptying a Dyson Cyclone V10 very cleanly?
What I mean is, you watch the commercials and everytime they show dumping the canister, it comes out like a nice tight neat little clump but the reality, at least for me is that when I push the red level and it pops open you get that but you also get a big cloud of fine dust wafting up out of the trash can and getting everywhere in a 10 foot radius. I always feel like I need a change of clothes afterwards.
I love everything else about this vacuum EXCEPT that. Any tricks for dealing with this precise problem? I looked it up and a lot of other videos and people literally act like it doesn't happen and in an AD for LG's competing vacuum cleaner, they even make fun of Dyson for that.
I can't get the bin to open properly for emptying anymore. When I push the red lever, the entire canister comes off. I tried purchasing a new canister, but it made no difference. In this gif, it shows the canister coming off pretty easily, but it typically takes quite a bit of force to get it off. Under no circumstances does it open properly for me to empty the canister. Any ideas?
Hello everyone, this is my first post here and it's because I've had a question for a long time that I can't figure out:
I've had a Dyson v12 for about 3 or 4 years now and I love it, the problem is that when I clean it, there's always a lot of dust left inside the vacuum cleaner. I clean it as best I can, and I even blow it into the nooks and crannies with compressed air and a lot of dirt comes out, but when I hit it with my hand, a lot of dust falls out, even big chunks. I can hit it for a long time and it never stops falling out, and of course it covers everything with dust.
Is there a way to clean it properly inside? I haven't been able to find a solution in manuals or searching on the internet.
Thanks!
