November 9, 2009 - AutoCAD will list all available properties. Select center (or if you use point, select position). Because I only use it in 2D drawings, I don’t need it to display Z value. I turn it off. Change the format if necessary.Click OK. Click OK again to close the define attribute dialog box. Place your attribute definition in the desired location. If you don’t want to have a leader on your coordinate label, you can skip this step.

Annotate the coordinates of a point - Autodesk Community
August 30, 2023 - The attributes shown are the X,Y coordinates of the center of the block. I used color 255,255,255 for the attribute color so it doesn't show up on our drawings. You can change that in block editor. We use ATTOUT to extract those values to a text file then import into a spreadsheet used for diagonals.

Add labels to points in drawing and export table with coordinates and labels matching the drawing
Do this in QGIS. Seriously. It's free, and it's made to do this kind of task. You could even have it autogenerate a point at vertexes assuming your geometry is clean. Assigning an X and Y coordinate is trivial. In AutoCAD it's a god damned nightmare -- even with Civil 3D. Can you learn to do this tomorrow? Probably not. But this is the kind of thing to learn that will save you a great deal of time and effort in the future. More on reddit.com

How to label several points(corners specifically), of an irregular polygon with its own coordinates?
Learn a bit of autoLISP Setvar osnap to endpoint, Pick corner, store point's ID, pick text location, write point ID with stored value.... These come to mind as commands to use... I'm sure a Google search would locate some LISP that has already done what you need. More on reddit.com

Essentially I'm looking for something that looks like the result of the "Dimordinate" command (Coordinates above/below a line connected to the point) however it shows the X AND Y coordinate stacked on top of each other (and preferably to 3 decimal places). Appreciate any help or advice. Cheers More on cadtutor.net

May 14, 2023 - To add a leader for the text in the Coordinates Block, follow the steps below: Open the Block Editor and draw a polyline leader. From the Parameter’s Tab Add the Point Parameter to the Leader. Then add a Stretch Action to the Point Parameter, selecting both Attributes and the Polyline as shown below: Lastly, Close Block Editor and Save the changes. Stretch your label and make it look the way you want it. Now you know how to label AutoCAD coordinates quickly and efficiently.

February 18, 2025 - So, I thought about coming up with a faster alternative that did not require any programming expertise but instead used standard AutoCAD functionality. 1. To begin we will place a POINT /NODE within an AutoCAD drawing. 2. Now we will Define an Attribute, with an allocated Field, adjacent to this point where we require the XY coordinate to appear.

To create ordinate dimensions or to align your labels specifically: Type Dimordinate in the command line. Follow the prompts to specify points and adjust dimension markers as necessary. After adjustments, you can proceed to attach coordinate labels accurately per your design’s requirement.

r/AutoCAD on Reddit: Add labels to points in drawing and export table with coordinates and labels matching the drawing
June 21, 2022 -

Hi everyone, I need some help here. Basically, I have this huge urban plan with over 200 independent properties (polygons, mostly rectangular) made in autocad and I need to add points and labels to every property vertex, and then export all point coordinates to an excel table.

My problem here is how to add text labels to each point so that when I export all the points to an excel table, the table also contains the label identifying each individual point so it matches its I.D. in the drawing.

I can add labels and automatically number them from 1 all the way to the last number and export the table to xls, but I don't know how to export the table with that label column. I did search multiple pages and videos already. I did my best to find a solution for this and the only solutions I've found were in Autocad Civil. I am not familiar with Autocad Civil features but still tried to use the trial version to test and I miserably failed because the labels don't show up even when activated and I don't know why.

I need this done by tomorrow even if I have to do it manually, but I'd like to know if there's a way to do it faster and obviously reduce the chances of making an error. Any solution would be appreciated. Thank you!

-I'm haven't the solution online to my problem yet

What I have:

-An irregular polygon drawn with the line tool, all angles are 90°

-They are drawn with the absolute coodinate system specifically

-Software is: Autodesk AutoCAD 2022

What I know:

-I know how to label the length of the sides of the shape but not corners

What I want to do but don't know how:

-Label the coordinate with the format: <Point name><(x, y)>
