How to reupholster a couch with attached cushions? (grr) - Quiltingboard Forums
Flip the sofa over and attach the dust cover (the fabric looks like weed fabric for the garden) on and you are done. Does the sofa have attached back pillows or separate throw pillows?

r/sewhelp on Reddit: Couch “reupholster” newbie question
13 December 2024 -
Howdy gang, so my couch has cushions like this that are fully attached to the back so I can’t pop them off, unlike the seat cushions. I wanted to try a super budget DIY to do a basic reupholster. Figured I’d go get a bunch of cheap black fabric, but am wondering how to sew that on. I assume I would want a handheld sewing machine and would have to just do my best in the crevices with it, but I’m not exactly sure what kind/attachments I would need. Anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you!

Cheap fabric isn’t going to be worth the effort on a couch, there’s a reason furniture is covered in heavy weight fabric. Get a couch slip cover. Get a good one that’s fitted, not one of those stupid stretchy ones. That will be cheaper snd easier than your idea.
