In most cases, drivers are automatically installed by windows, and microsoft doesn’t really want people manually installing them on windows 11, they’re pushing hard to have everything on windows update and the store. Some models nowadays list few or no drivers on HP.com as a result If you really need a driver and a win10 one is available, it should also work on win11, as both versions are quite similar at a technical level Anyways, for your specific problem, have you tried holding down the power button to turn off, and then turn back on? Does it turn on, show the HP logo, and then continue to windows? If you’re not seeing the HP logo at all, it could be a hardware problem, and definitely isn’t a driver issue. Check if any lights are on or flashing (power, caps lock, charging light) More on reddit.com

How doesn’t it have drivers for the main operating system? What am I doing wrong? I am using this video as reference and I’m on the second step where I plugged laptop into the tv and it doesn’t display on the laptop but does on the tv. Video said this means it doesn’t have the proper drivers installed so I need to go to www.hp.com/drivers to install the latest driver.
Well, when I enter my serial number it brings up a screen where I need to select my operating system. The only option is windows 10, which is what my laptop came pre-installed with. There’s no drop down for anything else!!! But I just downloaded windows 11 thinking maybe that would fix the problem and it hasn’t. When I go back to hp.com it only gives me windows 10 as the option for my OS. Also know that I tried downloading the driver when still on windows 10 but the “select the version” of OS did not have my windows 10 version as an option (21H2) which is why I went forward with downloading windows 11 thinking that would fix it.
Can anyone help?
Forgot to mention the background of my problem: I was using my laptop earlier today just fine and closed the lid and came back to it an hour later and the screen was black. I tried restarting and there was no display. Tried unplugging and powering down, etc.

My suggestion go back to windows 10. On that laptop many different folks have had issues with wireless not working, no video, and the list goes on. Now that laptop has 2 video cards, the onboard Intel Iris xe and the Nvidia mx250. You can down load the drivers from intel and Nvidia but keep 1 thing in mind going with the generic drivers you may be missing some extra features that HP baked in. Also if you go this route on the above drivers please only get them from intel and Nvidia don't use 3rd party utilities most are crap. Last note if it worked on windows 10 but not windows 11 definitely go back to 10. If it still doesn't work on windows 10 you then have a bad lcd panel/ screen. But on w10 or w11 disable fast startup, and also change that closing the lid puts the laptop to sleep and change the power button function to shut off and not putting it to sleep with the power button. Good luck and hopefully something will work and please come back to let the folks know how it goes.
