Efficient: HP Envy 6155e Printer Review - Top Home Choice?
I agree with everything you say here and I do like the printer and the ink service. My one complaint is with wifi connectivity. The printer drops off the network every day, sometimes more than once, and has to be unplugged and plugged back in to wake it back up and re-connect. I've done the things HP recommends but they don't help. With all its years of experience with networking HP should be able to get this right. I have used this printer in two different homes with completely different routers and the problem is exactly the same in both locations. Fussing with the router settings doesn't help because the problem is with the printer. I would not buy this printer again despite its many strong points, sleek attractive design and the HP Ink service. More on reddit.com

HP Envy Pro 6400 Mini-Review - Thurrott.com
June 17, 2020 - We’d already been using this app because of our HP OfficeJet, but adding the Envy Pro to the mix was straightforward enough that any user should be able to handle it. That said, printing is still, well, printing. And the app did require a number of steps to configure it for the home Wi-Fi, and explain how to load the paper in the bottom tray feeder, print an alignment test, scan that alignment test, and then consider HP’s Instant Ink subscription, which, like the printer itself is very reasonably priced.

r/readbeforebuying on Reddit: Efficient: HP Envy 6155e Printer Review - Top Home Choice?
December 3, 2024 -

Looking for a reliable all-in-one printer for your home? I recently got my hands on the HP Envy 6155e, and I'm impressed with its features.

This printer does it all - printing, scanning, and copying. I found the color touchscreen easy to use, making it simple to start print jobs. The wireless setup was quick, letting me print from my phone without any hassle. Plus, the dual-sided printing saves paper and time.

The print quality is great for both documents and photos. I noticed my pictures looked just as vibrant as they do on my screen. The printer is also pretty fast, pumping out 10 pages per minute in black and white.

One thing to note is that it uses HP's ink subscription service. While this means you get ink sent to you before you run out, it does come with a monthly fee after the first 3 months.

Bottom Line

The HP Envy 6155e is a solid choice for home printing needs. Its easy setup, good print quality, and handy features make it worth checking out.

Overview of the HP Envy 6155e Wireless All-in-One Printer

I recently got my hands on the Envy 6155e and I'm impressed with its versatility. This compact printer handles color printing, scanning, and copying tasks with ease. I found the 2.4" touchscreen simple to use, making it a breeze to navigate through different functions.

The wireless connectivity is solid, and I had no trouble printing from my phone using the HP app. It's nice to see eco-friendly design choices too, with the printer made from 60% recycled plastic.

Print quality is good for both documents and photos. The true-to-screen tech produces vibrant colors that match what I see on my devices. Auto-duplex printing saves paper, which I appreciate.

One thing to note: it uses HP-only ink cartridges. While this ensures quality, it might limit options for cheaper ink. The 100-sheet input tray is okay for home use, but I wish it held more paper.

Wireless Connectivity and Mobile Printing

I was impressed with how easy it was to set up the Envy's wireless features. The dual-band Wi-Fi connected quickly to my home network and has stayed stable. I've had no issues printing from my phone or tablet using the HP app. It's simple to scan documents directly to my email too. The touchscreen makes navigating wireless options a breeze. While the app works well, I found I could print from my phone without it once the printer was on my Wi-Fi. Overall, the wireless capabilities are solid and user-friendly for home use.

Intuitive Color Touchscreen

I found the 2.4-inch color touchscreen on this Envy printer really easy to use. The icons and menus are clear and simple to navigate. I was able to quickly access print, copy, and scan functions without any confusion. The screen is responsive and bright enough to see clearly. It's not huge, but it's definitely big enough for basic tasks. I appreciate how it streamlines the printing process compared to printers with just buttons. Overall, the touchscreen interface is a nice feature that makes operating this all-in-one printer more user-friendly.

Sustainable Design

I was impressed by the Envy's eco-friendly design. It's made with over 60% recycled plastic, which is a big plus for reducing waste. HP also has a program to protect and restore forests for every page printed. This printer works with HP's recycling program too, so you can send back used cartridges easily. While it still uses plastic, the recycled content and forest initiatives show HP is trying to be more sustainable. The energy-efficient design helps lower power use as well. Overall, I found the green features to be a nice bonus on top of the printer's solid performance.

True-to-Screen Color Technology

I was impressed by the Envy's color accuracy. The P3 technology made a noticeable difference when I printed photos. My images looked just as vibrant on paper as they did on my phone screen. This feature is great for folks who want their prints to match what they see digitally. It's not perfect though - some very bright colors still looked a bit off. But for most everyday printing, it did a solid job. I found this especially useful for printing documents with charts or graphics. The colors came out clear and true, making them easy to read and understand.

Pros and Cons

I've been using this HP Envy printer for a while now, and it's got some good points and drawbacks. The color touchscreen is a breeze to use, making it simple to navigate settings. I love how easy it is to print from my phone with the HP app. The printer's wireless connectivity is solid, and I haven't had issues with dropped connections.

On the downside, the print speed isn't the fastest. I've noticed it can be a bit slow when printing color documents. The ink costs can add up over time, even with the included Instant Ink subscription. Some users might find the setup process tricky, especially if they're not tech-savvy.

Pros: • User-friendly touchscreen • Easy mobile printing • Reliable wireless connection

Cons: • Slower color printing • Ongoing ink expenses • Potentially complex setup

Ink Subscription Service and Cost Savings

I found the ink subscription service for this printer to be a great way to save money. HP offers 3 months of free ink when you sign up for HP+. After that, you can keep getting ink delivered to your door. This means I don't have to worry about running out or making trips to the store. The service can save up to 50% on ink costs compared to buying cartridges as needed. I like that I can cancel anytime if I decide it's not for me. While the subscription is convenient, it's worth noting that this printer only works with HP's ink. So you can't use cheaper third-party cartridges to save money that way. Overall, I think the ink service is a good deal if you print regularly.

Customer Reviews

I've been using the Envy 6155e for a few months now, and I can say it's a mixed bag. The printer has a sleek design and sets up easily with WiFi and smartphones. Print quality is good for everyday use. Many users praise its compact size and attractive appearance.

On the downside, some people have had issues with HP's software and setup process. A few reviewers mention problems connecting to WiFi or completing the setup through the app.

The printer works well for basic home use, but it might not be ideal for heavy printing needs. Some users warn that HP's ink subscription service can be costly in the long run.

Overall, the Envy 6155e has a 3.9-star rating from over 12,000 reviews. It seems to work well for most people, but there are some complaints about software and connectivity issues to be aware of before buying.

Environmental Impact and Sustainability Features

The Envy 6155e shows HP's commitment to eco-friendly design. I was impressed to learn it's made with at least 60% recycled plastic. This printer is part of HP's efforts to protect forests too. For each page I print, HP works to manage and restore forest areas. It's nice to see a tech company taking steps to reduce environmental impact. The printer is also recyclable through HP's Planet Partners program when it reaches the end of its life. While it still uses ink cartridges, which create some waste, the recycled materials and forest initiatives are positive sustainability features. Overall, this printer balances functionality with some eco-conscious design choices.

Ease of Use for All Users

Setting up this printer was a breeze. I had it connected to my Wi-Fi network in minutes. The 2.4-inch color touchscreen is clear and easy to navigate. I found printing from my phone simple with the HP app. Scanning and copying are quick tasks too. The 100-sheet input tray is handy, so I don't have to refill paper often. Double-sided printing saves time and paper. While most functions are user-friendly, some seniors might need help with initial setup. The printer sometimes has connection hiccups, but it usually fixes itself. Overall, it's pretty straightforward for everyday home use.

Conclusion

After using the HP Envy 6155e for a while, I'm left with mixed feelings. It's a solid printer for basic home use, but it has some drawbacks. The slim design and easy setup are big pluses. I like that it can print, scan, and copy. The wireless function works well once you get it set up. Print quality is decent for everyday tasks. The included ink is nice, but you'll need to buy more soon. Keep in mind it needs Wi-Fi to work with phones - no Bluetooth option. While not perfect, it gets the job done for most home printing needs. Just be ready for some possible setup hiccups and ongoing ink costs.
