I'd like to know that if once the custom domain is setup, am I able to use it to as my current Apple ID instead of my current me.com address since they are suppose to be linked? I recommend just using your current Apple ID if you want to start over with a fresh phone, then just don’t revert iCloud backup. Your photos can still be synchronized if they are in iCloud. In this case there is no point of creating a new Apple ID. More on reddit.com

I am currently on an Android phone and am planning to buy an iPhone in the near future. In preparation, I have started to make a new iCloud account, but it seems certain things like mail can only be fully set up on an Apple device, and I do not currently own one.

Is there any way around this or can I not fully complete the setup until I get an Apple device?
