It’s not meant to stand alone and is not made to be able to stand alone (none of the shoe cabinets are). You could try using a LOT of heavy duty Command strips, but if you have kids or pets I would be concerned about them knocking it loose by climbing it, running into it, slamming the doors, etc. You could try attaching it to a large wood base to make the bottom more stable as well, but still use the Command strips to attach it at the top. First off, with whatever saw you use, put on masking tape, it will help prevent splintering of the woods laminated top. I would advise getting a jewellers saw I think it is, it’s a U shaped piece of metal with a handle on one side and a cutting wire of sorts between them. It will take a while to cut but as it isn’t jagged it shouldn’t damage it. I think it’s called a coping saw. Finally you will want something like a compass to be able to put it against the wall and trace the outside of the skirting onto the shoe rack. This could also be done with a piece of wood the size of your finger with a hole drilled into it as the deepest point, say to the wall just above the skirting and the hole being the start of the show rack, then as you pull it down the skirting it will make the shape of the skirting onto the rack.
