Hi. Any news on Nordli yet?? The reason I ask is because, as others have noted online in this sub and elsewhere, it seems like Ikea is discontinuing the line, or at least discontinuing many of the larger Nordli dressers. But I've read a few comments in this sub that suggest perhaps Nordli isn't being discontinued, that perhaps Ikea stores will have new Nordli stock around July of this year? Does anyone have any info that they can share?
In August 2023, I moved to a new location and in the process of moving, the movers damaged my tall 6-drawer Ikea Malm dresser. It's still generally usable, but I'd like to replace it and was hoping to get either the Nordli tall 7- or 6-drawer dresser. However, in the past few months, when I've looked for available stock at the closest Ikea store that can deliver to me (West Sacramento), the Ikea website constantly indicates there's no more Nordli stock at that store. I signed up for notifications to find out when stock becomes available and recently received an e-mail informing me that Nordli will no longer be sold at that store.
That's why I'm asking my question - whether anyone knows if the rumor that Ikea will have new Nordli stock in July is accurate. If you know something or have any ideas, please let me know! Thank you.

Hey folks! Happy holidays! Wondering if anyone can tell me whether this specific model of the Nordli 12 drawer chest is discontinued in Canada? I had been waiting for ages for it to come back in stock at the Halifax, NS location. On my most recent search it seems to be gone completely from the Canadian site? I was planning a bedroom redesign for the new year and have had this piece in mind the entire year! Tell me it’s just out of stock or something? Thanks for your help!
I had my heart set on Nordli drawers but had to wait until I could secure my new apartment to do c&c or delivery and now their stock is too low at any ikeas that I can possibly go to.. does anyone know if they’re discontinuing that line? Trying to figure out a good replacement in a brown-black color. I liked the Nordli because they seemed to have so much space!
The black color may be discontinued now. At the end of August there were huge stacks of the smaller 2 drawer and chests in the AS-IS dept.
I have been stalking the black drown nordli also.....our store never has enough in stock and when i went 2 weeks ago....the guy said there was a stop sell date of Aug in the computer...so he said they might be discontinuing it? but he wasnt sure....
Looking for Nordli dresser in Anthracite. The preferred combination I’m looking for is 993.841.98.
I’m located in Maryland so my two “home” stores are Baltimore and College Park. That being said, using the app, I also checked stores in NY, NJ, PA, and VA, as I’m fine with a bit of a road trip to get it. No luck yet in any case.
A couple things I noticed about Nordli as a consumer of a few other pieces in that line:
It can be hard to find and goes out of stock often. For example, we bought our bed and couldn’t find the nightstands until about six months later. It was easily a full year before we found the one dresser we have already.
It’s modular. We noticed that we’d sometimes see the parts labeled as “in stock” for what we wanted, though the whole packaged piece would say “out of stock”.
So with that being said, currently most of the pieces are saying “last chance to buy” and “out of stock” for both in store and home delivery where I live. While the app is usually pretty reliable in showing accurate stock, we have been told by Ikea Team Members in store that it’s not entirely accurate, which is understandable. What I’m unsure of is whether it’s actually been discontinued (sale price makes me think it probably has) or if this is another long stretch of slow manufacturing.
Just hoping to find out whether it’s a lost cause or if there’s still some out there and would appreciate any info either way. Sincere thanks in advance 🙂
I just noticed that there are a bunch of NORDLI dressers and chests that are out of stock at every store I check. For example, I checked something like 10 different stores for the NORDLI 2, 3, and 6-drawer chests and they all say "This product is out of stock at your selected store. At the moment the expected delivery date is unavailable."
Is this fallout from the dresser crisis, or are they basically discontinued without telling anyone?
In light of the MALM / NORDLI being discontinued, starting this thread as a memorial of sorts, post your favorite photos and hacks from those lines!
Also post your opinions on if this was the right call: Consumer responsibility to anchor to wall vs IKEA's responsibility in terms of design.
Could we start a petition to bring back the MALM / NORDLI? I feel sad to see them go, they seemed to be their best dresser / chest of drawers options.
What can be done? Do you feel optimistic that IKEA will bring back reasonable replacements? Any current items still available to purchase that you think could be hacked as good replacement?
