Splitting Array in sub Arrays of sequential numbers?
I'd use reduce for that const newItems = items.reduce((memo, item) => { const lastArray = memo[memo.length - 1]; const lastItem = lastArray[lastArray.length - 1]; if (!lastItem || item - lastItem === 0.5) { lastArray.push(item) } else { memo.push([item]); } return memo }, [[]]) This is quite literally off the top of my head, sitting in bed sunday morning on a laptop... I haven't tested this and it may have bugs. It also assumes the difference between numbers will always be 0.5... I took that from your code, unsure if it matches the data you are getting though.... if you get 16, 17, 17.5 -- it will split that. edit to answer your question, slice doesn't modify the original array and you are always specifying 0 as the starting index to slice from.... this means you're always using the beginning of possibleTimes to the index you found. You'll probably want to use splice which mutates the array.... specify i as the index to start, 1 as number of elements to remove and omit the rest of the parameters. https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/JavaScript/Reference/Global_Objects/Array/slice https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/JavaScript/Reference/Global_Objects/Array/splice More on reddit.com
Can you spread an array of components in React?
In your case, JSX is transpiled to React.createElement via Babel. Here's the signature for createElement: function createElement
, T extends Element>( type: string, props?: ClassAttributes & P, ...children: ReactNode[]): DOMElement; Notice the children are variadic, and note that a child can be an array. In JSX, {...components} happens to transpile to...the same thing actually: {...components}. This is an object literal, and is not a valid child type. This works:

Arrays vs Linked List in JavaScript
Arrays in JavaScript can grow and they can be sparse, too. The VM automatically picks the more suitable implementation. There are also tightly packed typed arrays which are interesting for WebGL, Canvas, working with bytes, and Asm.js/Wasm. https://developer.mozilla.org/en/docs/Web/JavaScript/Typed_arrays Linked lists are very rarely a good fit. Even if you do particle effect stuff without reusing the particles, you're still not doing enough inserts/deletes for making linked lists look any good. More on reddit.com
