r/iphone on Reddit: How do I turn this off?
September 7, 2024 -

Whenever I try take a photo by quickly opening camera, pressing volume or the white button it normally works. But half the time, it enters this mode where it asks me to hold the phone still for a few seconds or the photo will be incredibly blurry so it can remove the darkness

It’s a great feature, but it’s ruined a lot of photos I’ve wanted to take where it’s gotten in the way and ruined the chance

Is there a way to just completely disable it auto turning on? Thank you!

Night mode on iPhone: How to use it and best shots we've seen - 9to5Mac
October 29, 2023 - When enabled, it vastly improves photos by increasing the exposure time of your iPhone’s camera. The result can be some pretty incredible low-light shots. Note: Night mode is available on all iPhone 11 models and newer, as well as iPad Pro. Since you can’t manually turn on Night mode for any setting, you’ll need to be in a low or medium-light environment for that gray or yellow moon icon to appear.

How to do Night Photography with iPhone: Apps & Accessories
December 10, 2024 - Night mode was originally only available for use with the standard wide lens. iPhone 13 and iOS 15 now allow you to use night mode with all three lenses (if you have a pro model). So, as of May 2022, night mode works with all iPhone 11, 12, and 13 models. To my knowledge, it does not work with iPhone SE models. If the iPhone camera app detects a low light scene, it automatically enables night mode.

October 27, 2024 - Night Mode also enhances time-lapse videos and is supported by the front-facing camera for selfies. To maximize the feature’s potential, users can adjust settings like the exposure slider or temporarily disable Night Mode via the control center for creative results. Remember that Night Shift and Dark Mode are unrelated settings that instead adjust the screen’s color and brightness. To master iPhone Night Mode, understanding advanced techniques ensures photos stand out in clarity and creativity, even in low-light conditions.
