Iran–Israel war ceasefire
October 12, 2025 - After Iranian media reported sounds of explosions in Tehran and stated that the northern city of Babolsar was under attack, Israel acknowledged attacking a radar installation in the vicinity of Tehran in response to Iran's missile launches; Netanyahu's office stated that it was destroyed. Despite its volatile beginnings, the ceasefire ultimately held, partly as a result of Trump's continued intervention with Netanyahu.

Israel-Iran live: Trump claims a 'total ceasefire' has been agreed between Israel and Iran
“CONGRATULATIONS TO EVERYONE! It has been fully agreed by and between Israel and Iran that there will be a Complete and Total CEASEFIRE (in approximately 6 hours from now, when Israel and Iran have wound down and completed their in progress, final missions!), for 12 hours, at which point the War will be considered, ENDED! Officially, Iran will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 12th Hour, Israel will start the CEASEFIRE and, upon the 24th Hour, an Official END to THE 12 DAY WAR will be saluted by the World. During each CEASEFIRE, the other side will remain PEACEFUL and RESPECTFUL. On the assumption that everything works as it should, which it will, I would like to congratulate both Countries, Israel and Iran, on having the Stamina, Courage, and Intelligence to end, what should be called, "THE 12 DAY WAR." This is a War that could have gone on for years, and destroyed the entire Middle East, but it didn't, and never will! God bless Israel, God bless Iran, God bless the Middle East, God bless the United States of America, and GOD BLESS THE WORLD!” Was written by Trump on his truth social account. Remains to be seen what the hell any of this rambling actually means. More on reddit.com
Israel says Iran violates ceasefire, orders new strikes | Reuters
I hate how Reuters just cite this ceasefire violation as Israel said it happened and Iran said it didn’t. I mean do your job and tells us if ballistic missiles did come from Iran after the ceasefire or not - it’s not something to debate on. (full disclosure: they did, source? I heard them fall) More on reddit.com
Don’t hold your breath. Iran Israel ceasefire is fragile at best
In the end, Iran has been attacking Israel for a long time. Much of the terrorism Israel has faced for decades was funded by Iran, the terrorists were trained by or actively run by Iran. It wasn't ever Iranian soldiers, so it was somewhat expected that Israel would just fight the Iranian proxies. Israel has until recently honored that fig leaf the Iranians have been using. They stopped honoring that fig leaf after 10/7. I'm honestly surprised they hadn't done it sooner. More on reddit.com

Israel-Iran ceasefire: the shortcomings of the “peace through strength” approach :: Note de la FRS :: Foundation for Strategic Research :: FRS
June 27, 2025 - The ceasefire includes a series of pitfalls, mainly the vagueness around its terms and the uncertainty about the status of Iran’s nuclear program after the strikes. In this context, not only Tehran’s calculations are unpredictable, but the Israeli government could easily get back to its desire to enforce a chaotic regime change in Iran or impose a continued military domination, both bearing prospects for further destabilization.

The Jubilation in Israel Is Premature - The Atlantic
July 11, 2025 - In Israel, the war is over, and not over at all. In the two weeks since the cease-fire with Iran, praise for the Israeli military has been nearly unanimous within the country. Opposition politicians spoke of “clear” and “stunning” accomplishments by the Israel Defense Forces and the Mossad intelligence agency.

US strikes failed to destroy Iran's nuclear sites, intelligence report says | Reuters
June 25, 2025 - Iran, which denies trying to build nuclear weapons, retaliated with barrages of missiles on Israeli military sites and cities. Israel's military lifted restrictions on activity across the country at 8 p.m. local time (1700 GMT), and officials said Ben Gurion Airport, the country's main airport near Tel Aviv, had reopened. Iran's airspace likewise will be reopened, state-affiliated Nournews reported. A White House official said Trump brokered the ceasefire deal with Netanyahu, and other administration officials were in touch with the Iranian government.

Don’t count on the Iran-Israel ceasefire lasting. What Netanyahu really wants is a forever war | Simon Tisdall | The Guardian
June 30, 2025 - The war is over! Except it’s not, not by a long chalk. The verbally agreed Iran-Israel ceasefire could be ripped to shreds at any moment. An aggressive theocratic regime still holds power in Tehran. The same is true of Jerusalem. In Washington, a president whose stupidity is matched only by his vanity prattles about making peace, but the angry old men in charge have learned nothing.

The Israel–Iran ceasefire is a relief for China. But the war exposed Beijing’s lack of leverage
July 25, 2025 - China has scored significant wins from the 12-day Israel–Iran war. It can now buy more Iranian oil without being sanctioned. It can secure future contracts to rebuild Iran’s economy and industrial base. And it will be satisfied to see the United States once again distracted by events far from the Indo-Pacific.
