I'm in the process of getting a HP Omen 16. My previous gaming laptop was an ASUS TUF and with ASUS we have Armoury Crate, which is a nightmare.
I know that Omen has the Gaming Hub, what about it? Keep or remove? Useful or not?
I always uninstall the Armoury Crate on my ASUS and I never really had to control the fans or RGB lightning of my keyboard, everything worked fine. So I'm wondering if it's the same for the Omen version so that it doesn't really have any impact on the overall performances.

I keep. Useful for many things and works. Should note i barely ever open it. Just if it has an update to check what's new. Uses like no background power.

I first removed it on my Victus laptop, then spent countless hours trying to solve an issue with the fans. The issue was; when the PC was idle, the fans used to start blowing at full speed for no reason. That caused the fans to gather dust and I had to clean them every 2 months if not sooner. Then I installed OGH for some reason, found the Performance Control section, set it to quiet when I'm not gaming; and suddenly the Victus was the most quiet laptop that I ever had. I had no noticeable performance issues either. However thanks to this topic I now discovered OmenMon and I will give it a try soon.

not really tbh. it just gives a handy keyboard shortcut to change win11 battery power modes. beside the performance mode and keyboard lighting sections, the rest of the app feels like a telemetry mess. like im sure the reason why this app 'feels" slow is cuz of the gaming deals section and all the telemetry it's picking up. there is also an open-source version of this app called omencore https://omencore.info/
