What's it Like to Go Dating on Reddit? - Lubov Demchuk
November 28, 2025 - Reddit covers thousands of niche subtopics, but what if you just wanted to go on a date? In today’s world, Reddit is not just a platform for discussions; it also functions as a classifieds page for connecting with fellow Redditors (users of Reddit), particularly through subreddits like “R4R” (Redditor for Redditor).

December 3, 2008 - Great photos for both. Not on apps myself but the whole ‘men starve while women drown’ thing is very true it seems. I can’t believe so many men have so little standards. ... I haven’t used a dating app in a long time, and just signed up to Hinge a few weeks ago. I have to admit I’m shocked over the unabashed lying on the apps. Things have really changed since before covid it seems. Reddit posts can work as the opposite of a dating app: Instead of swiping on a photo, a well written profile post full of interesting stuff that you do attracts attention. People contact you via the reddit chat, and after a few hours chatting and answering questions, then you offer to swap photos.
Might be a good option for those like me who don't photograph well

August 27, 2025 - This is where the significant differences between these apps are apparent. For instance, Tinder, with its famous hot-or-not swiping interface, makes it quick and easy to find your next date. Bumble, on the other hand, puts all the power in women's hands; men can't even contact a woman unless she's first expressed interest. Others, such as Match and OkCupid, have robust profiles that let you dive deep into a user's personality (or at least the one they decided to present to you), before you decide to go on the pursuit.

In the summer of 2017, a petition on Change.org called for r/Incels to be banned for inciting violence against women. Following the October implementation of a new Reddit policy that prohibited the incitement of violence, the subreddit was banned on November 7, 2017.
