It was Finn. He also didn't want to play a teen for the next 7 years. His words in an interview. He decided to do three plays off Broadway that year. Playing a teen for 2 to 3 years for spring awakening was a lot. To be honest, I think he wanted to try some new things and not be tied down. I also loved how he would make his random appearances after season one in dramatic fashion. He truly has an amazing body of work to show for it. His first love is theatre, but his projects have an amazing variety. I have enjoyed everything I have seen him in. A great range.

i’ve said this before and I’ll say it again: Cory WAS Finn. He was the heart of glee (for me), and I can’t see jonathan or darren or anyone else playing that role. Cory did a great job with the character and we were so lucky to see his talents improve and shine in that role for the first four seasons❤️
