"Jonathan said to me, 'Ryan's writing Glee for you and me'. And I was like, 'Absolutely not, that's never going to happen'. And it turns out, yes, Ryan was writing Glee for him and me. Then I auditioned and ended up with Rachel. They offered Finn, but he turned it down. He didn't want to play a football player. He didn't want to have that long of a contract. Then they cast Cory, and then, you know, Ryan said, 'You could come in and play this other role', and he agreed, and he played Jesse St. James".
