The game looks cool an all, but I can't shake the feeling that it's just a reskin with minor additions. I've read both very good and very bad reviews, with very few in between.; so I think it's safe to say it's very hit or miss. what are your guys' thoughts?

I just have to preface that I don't own the game but I did break my "no pre order games" rule for the first one and got burned pretty badly so I followed this one closely but was not touching it until release. JWE2 is basically just JWE1.5; that is to say they really didn't overhaul much in terms of gameplay. The dinosaur AI is better now with them actually interacting with each other, but I'm not sure if it reaches the levels of "I can sit there and watch my dinosaurs go about their life and be interested" like JPOG. The lighting is improved, the movie skins look like they've gotten an overhaul (compare the bull rex skin in JWE1 to the JWE2 skin, it looks much more accurate now), they fixed the rex model, some animations were improved, there's slightly more customization (although you still can't just place things wherever you want), there are more terrain brushes and biomes, some new dinosaurs/flying reptiles, new maps, and the marine reptiles (which we'll get to). Those are basically the pros from what I can gather. Now for the cons: first off the game is a buggy mess; there are a ton of visual glitches and oddities that weren't present in the first game's release. Apparently people are also having issues with dinosaurs phasing through fences without breaking out and wreaking havoc so that sounds like a box of kittens. Despite numerous complaints from the community micromanagement is back and worse than ever; now you have to manage scientists to get anything done. Because of this breeding dinosaurs is very tedious. The campaign is terribly short and feels more like an afterthought while Chaos Theory is a huge spike in difficultly. Dinosaurs now have massive compatibility issues making multi species enclosures a major issue and the hilariously over the top kill animations are still in the game (ex. a t.rex lifting a hadrosaur by the neck and slamming it over its body WWE style). The species compatibility extends to the marine reptiles as more than one species will cause fights to occur; also there are major clipping issues with anything the marine reptiles do which tells me they were very haphazardly added. The real elephant in the room is that these changes did not warrant a new game; if they would have leaned more towards what the leakers were saying and basically made Planet Zoo but with Jurassic Park it would have. As it currently stands it could have been sold as an add on upgrade to JWE for maybe $20-$30 put out closer to JWD's release. The core gameplay problems with JWE1 still exist meaning they never really addressed the big issues; it makes JWE2 feel more like a movie tie in cash grab than Frontier trying to right the ship on JP park building games. I mentioned this in a post on the JWE subreddit but it almost feels like JP builders are cursed at this point and it's very likely that if we ever want a good one we're going to have to make it ourselves. That means either modding JWE, going back to JPOG with the intention of stripping that engine apart, or hoping Prehistoric Kingdom gets released and mod that to have a JP flavor.

Just did a rewatch of the movie seeing as it was leaving Netflix and i haven't watched it since it came out. I was honestly pleasantly surprised with how enjoyable the movie was.
I used to see a lot of criticisms regarding the movie so didn't go into the movie with a lot of expectations, so i didn't really expect it to be so good.
The movies peak is definitely the Indoraptor hunting scenes, the dino looks cool and menacing with the black colour looking real good for it.
Kinda disappointed they never went with the Black and White dual Indoraptors idea especially after finding out that the I. Rex's brother was black in colour. So its a bit of a reversal on the previous Indo.

None of the JW films hold a candle to JP and TLW. I also think JP3 -as ridiculous as it is- is a far better movie than any of the new World films too. Having said that- I do like how they tried to bring the horror element back into the franchise. The bedroom scene and the scene with our characters hiding in the museum from the Indoraptor are some of the best of the JW films. But the idea of using a gun to trigger the Indoraptor to attack and the scene in the cage where the Indoraptor smiles at the camera like a Looney Toons skit are also some of the most ridiculous moments of the new films.
