i recently built a keeb with the KBDFans 65% rgb pcb, and i was wondering how i'm supposed to get the software for changing the RGB setting? The download isn't available on the website.

Keyboards with custom firmwares aren't the same as prebuilts. They concentrate on firmware instead of software which is meant to be programmed by the user. Pretty difficult but very rewarding. There're few options like building/editing Your firmware and flashing it onto the microcontroller or downloading/compiling firmware compatible with VIA or VIAL which have graphical interface but very limited functionality compared to QMK, especially VIA which is really outdated. Almost all KBDfans boards are preflashed with VIA compatible firmware so You can download VIA or VIAL apps and remap Your keys. Flashing in this case is not necessary unless something bad will happen to Your firmware or bootloader. QMK uses like 4 or 5 different types of lighting but mostly it's controlled through keycodes also You have to familiarize with layer functionality in QMK like Mo(x) where x is the layer number works like typical Fn. Some guides are available on KBDfans Discord including firmwares.

That board should have a KBD67 MKII V3 PCB, which comes pre-flashed with VIA. You should download and install VIA on your computer and the board should pop up when you start it up and have the keyboard plugged in. You can remap and change RGB setting there. https://www.caniusevia.com/

Many split keyboards use a USB-C or TRS cable. I would recommend that KBDCraft adopt one of these two standards (whichever is cheaper). Make sure to review the Vial Software documentation if you use a Linux computer, as there are additional steps you need to follow to get the keyboard to register.
