I recently was in touch with Keychron support, and they pointed me at https://launcher.keychron.com to configure my keyboard. This was new to me and I don't see it mentioned in this sub's history so thought I'd post it.
I can't post pictures in this sub, but Keychron Launcher has been redesigned, apparently. All the features appear to be there, and there are even some new ones on the mouse side (pre-baked profiles for certain games, for example), but what is this UI? It looks okay, I suppose, but it's way less readable and unnecessarily complicated, IMO. I get that this is a bit of "old man yells at cloud," but come on, there's so much more you could be spending dev resources on than this.
It also doesn't scale properly on small screens anymore. I have to set scaling to 90% for it to fit on my 1080p, 15.6" laptop display. Frustration all around.
Hi. I'm looking around for a mechanical keyboard for my Mac, and came across Keychron.
Is the web app the only way to configure these? Personally I'm just curious as to why it's a web app, and not a native app that you can download. I would definitely prefer an actual app, especially if my internet is down for whatever reason. But it's also a personal comfort thing. I suppose I don't like a web app connecting to things outside my browser.
Edit: My primary browser is also Safari, and I'd rather not use a whole other browser just to use Launcher (since Safari doesn't allow device access).
I have a Keychron V6 Max with the knob for home use and a Keychron K10 Pro for office use. I would like to get started on using QMK to customize them. Let's face it, it's one of Keychron's greatest advantages over other brands. Can someone answer these questions for me?
a) Which one is more powerful? QMK or Keychron Launcher?
b) Can someone recommend me a QMK tutorial for a newbie for me that doesn't make me want to pull my hair out?
c) Can someone also explain to me what a tapdance is in keyboard parlance? And how VIAL comes into it?
d) Can someone recommend great macros that has made your life easier? One of my favourites that I use the Launcher to program is the quick Equation Box macro in MS Word. I also have PowerToys installed on my laptop.
Thanks in advance for answers.
