Chrome Users: Please note that LastPass has problems in iOS/iPadOS and as of 13.3.1, the fault is still present. All is not lost however as LastPass in the below example is tested and known to work correctly with Firefox as of iOS/iPadOS 13.3.1.
iOS/iPadOS Settings
- Open Settings
- Choose Passwords & Accounts
- Select AutoFill Passwords
- Check the box next to LastPass
- Uncheck the box next to iCloud Keychain.
LastPass App
Before you can access any passwords, you must have the LasstPass app installed on your iPhone/iPad and be logged-into the App with your LastPass Master Password
Web Browser
Although this example uses Firefox, the process is almost the same for Chrome users.
Step 1
- Select the password field.
- Open the share dialog by tapping on the 3 dots (Chrome users tap the share icon).
- Choose "Share Page With..." I did say the process was counter-intuitive...
Step 2
Tap LastPass
Step 3
Tap the password offered in the LastPass dialog.
That's it.
Conclusion
Although not a very intuitive process, using LastPass with a browser on iOS/iPadOS it's still pretty easy to use.

There used to be a bar here that would take me to LastPass even if I didn’t have a password on this website. Now it has been replaced with this bar that is trying to force me to use google’s password manager
I used to get a pop up here that would take me to LastPass even if I didn’t have a password on this website. Recently it has been replaced by this bar in chrome trying to force me to use their password manager
Lastpass will not offer to generate or save new passwords. Lastpass is selected for password autofill. Keychain is not. On new sites or for trying to reset passwords, Lastpass is non functional. Chrome still offers to generate passwords in the bar above keyboard. Going in to the vault offers no ability to generate a new one. Anybody have any ideas?
Posting how I was able to resolve in case someone has same issue. Searched and couldn’t find. On iOS 17.3, iPad Air. UID and Password wouldn’t fill, just kept returning blank fields. Tried turning off autofill in settings. Tried all the settings tricks. Tried Safari, which worked fine. Changed default browser to Safari. Later tried Chrome and all is ok. Changed default browser back to Chrome.
I’m in some identity management pain. I don’t recall opting into passkeys but somehow Google is now asking me for it when I’m using them for id management. I don’t think i have a passkey. When i try to create one, LastPass says “Password can’t be added.” (I’m not trying to use Lastpass, it’s just inserting itself.)
I see another thread on this topic but am not finding Lastpass to be buggy. The issue is more that either passkeys are not ready for prime time or they’re not playing nicely with last pass.
Should I turn off LastPass? Turn off passkeys? (How?)
I’ve also noticed google 2fa doesn’t work when things are launched from Facebook. (Not sure if it’s a security issue or a bug.)
Has anyone found a way out of this mess while keeping LastPass?
Thanks
