Trying to decide between a $250 Signature Round 9 quart in cerise, or $250 signature round 7.25 quart in oyster .
It seems most comment that the 7.25 is as large as you would ever need, and it's even what ATK recommends.
Anyone have experience with the 9 quart and 7.25 ?
For the same price it seems the 9 better deal, but I get the sense unless you are scaling up recipes found online/in books you will never make use of the amount over 7.25.

Bigger isn’t always better. You’re not buying in bulk here. You’re buying a tool. Right size is way better than the wrong size. I have most sizes. The ones that gets the most use are 5-5.5qt. They’re just a good all around size. If you’re cooking for more people though, bigger is better. If this is your first and only LC, I’d go with the 7.25. The 9 is just that much heavier and a little big if you’re not making large batches of food. Most home cook stock pots are 8qts. Would you cook every meal with a stock pot?

I have a 7.25 qt and a 9.5 qt oval and I still bought the 9 qt round on this deal. I find the oval cooks a bit unevenly (needs a lot more stirring) on my round burners and the 7.25 qt barely fits what I’m making at times. Though I admit I often double recipes. Especially for something that needs stirring though, 7.25 qt is really only holding 4-5 qt, otherwise your liquid or whatever ends up splashing out of the pot if you stir vigorously.

So I have a 5.5 qt I got at the outlet at the year end sale. I had been looking also for something in the 7 range.
Just found a lightly used beautiful DO on FB marketplace in a favorite color that they have listed as a 6.75 qt oval. It’s clearly not oval and the lid says 30. That makes it a 9 quart round. I’m worried it might be too big for me.
So for those with a 9 quart, how do you use it? What do you make in it?
