You’re totally right… there really aren’t a ton of options made specifically for women when it comes to leather bomber jackets. That said, bombers like the A-2 or B-3 were originally made for men in the military. A lot of women wear men’s styles.. you just have to adjust the sizing, especially in the shoulders and length. If you’re looking for a “buy it for life” piece, I’d suggest looking at brands that offer custom sizing even if the pattern is technically a men’s fit. That gives you the freedom to get the fit right without sacrificing build quality or authenticity. I’d look into brands like aero leathers or check out Good Wear Leather, Eastman if your budget allows. Even Five Star Leather on the lower end offers custom sizing and you can request pattern tweaks. For the fabric knits on the cuffs/waist: if you’re not abusing the jacket, they can last 10+ years… and they’re replaceable down the line, so don’t let that be a dealbreaker. Hooray! I love that bombers are on trend. I have a small and a large denim one (boyfriend got one and decided he was not a huge fan, so it's mine, now I have two!), a large lilac silk one with a textured floral pattern, and a few leather bombers. In my experience, pleather/faux leather always starts disintegrating within a year or two of use. Meanwhile I have leather jackets I inherited from relatives from the 70’s/80’s that still look brand new today. A well cared for leather garment will last you so much longer than plastic. (And not to mention leather wont add more microplastics to the water supply)
