Appliances at costco Buying an LG might not be a good idea.

I did a ton of research because you hear so much bad about LG, and I still bought an LG French door. You can find compliants about pretty much any brand out there if you look. Features like through the door ice makers are the most problematic, but I like my ice, so I got one. Consumer Reports ranks LG as good reliability, which is the same score they give most other brands. Samsung was lower with fair reliability along with 1 of the other major brands. Yale Appliance has a lot of good statistics, and they publish their repair rates. From doing way to much research, LG and Samsung refrigerators seem to have the most problems. I went with Kitchaid. I needed to purchase due to my 10 year old or so Kenmore stopped working. More on reddit.com

Did they by any chance tilt it beyond a certain angle then immediately plug it in? Unplug it, let it sit for 24 hours, then plug it in again, if it's still not cooling exchange it because you don't want to have a brand new REPAIRED refrigerator. More on reddit.com

Been losing my mind trying to find a refrigerator as the compressor on my current one is screaming every time it turns on, but its gone for 23 years now.

On the Pre-pre-holiday link there is a "LG Double Freezer French Door Refrigerator with Internal Water Dispenser" and I'm 99% sure its https://www.costco.com/.product.1504834.html, but I figured I'd ask to see if anybody could confirm. I can't say I care for how LG does the dual drawer layout, but if its $1600 next week I might bite the bullet.

There is a current GE option at $1600 which might be an option, and I'm looking at buying either of these with the Citi Premier +2 year extended warranty that the old Costco card used to have. I'm not excited that it will probably last 10 years at best...

Edit - this one is the only LG fridge on their site where the promo price ends 10/29, instead of 10/31 like all the other ones. That is a sign...

Had an LG fridge, the compressor died within 3-5 yrs. Within the last month, had an LG washer that flooded our garage because the sensor didn’t know when to turn off the water after filling the drum. Never buying LG appliances again.
