Something feels off about our living room layout... I think the television takes up too much space in the left corner of the fireplace. Ideally I'd like to put the TV in a place where it's not visible (or disguised as an art frame) when not in use. It could go above the fireplace but I'm trying to avoid r/tvtoohigh...
Any other ideas for improving general layout? We used to have a bookcase on the right side of the fireplace but relocated it because it looked too crowded. Maybe the couch is too big? I will note, we do have four young children, so function and practical furniture (room to play) is key. This is not the main play area, but they do spend significant time here, especially in the morning and evenings. I'm open to all suggestions!
My brain is starting to boggle and I need some advice!
Recently bought a house and I'm trying to decide the best layout for the living room. I've narrowed it down to two options:
Option 1: sofa across the long wall, TV in the corner. I don't really like the TV in the corner and it feels a bit far away, but is probably more practical.
Option 2: TV on the short wall. More practical for watching but means we can't have a corner sofa the sofa is out in the middle of the room.
Any advice welcome!
