Honest opinion on MBP in 2025
Long time windows user but the M chips are just killing the competition. Particularly for work, the power efficiency is an insurmountable advantage. Can’t imagine using an intel laptop right now when I can work on a MacBook pro for 2 days without a plug. We’ll see if the qualcomm chips can make windows laptops competitive. My son got a surface 11 for school so i’ll see how it works for him. More on reddit.com

I'm a computer science student who does software/AI work in university. I currently use a 13" 2020 Intel MacBook Pro. It's getting a bit sluggish for doing the AI training and software work I do. I want to get a new MacBook Pro, so I'm considering get one after WWDC in June this year when they update it. However, I've seen the rumors saying 2026 will be a big year and they'll make the laptop thinner and get rid of the notch. That's very tempting, and I think I might be able to wait one more year for it.

The waiting game will always set you up for disappointment. Pull the trigger when you are ready and have the funds. Apple notoriously says they are going to do this or that (looking at you Apple Intelligence) only to not do that thing. I have an M2 and I love it
