Unpopular Opinion: The Apple Magic Keyboard is almost perfect! | MacRumors Forums
December 13, 2024 - I also like the Magic keyboard, its low profile and having Touch ID has been great. Granted, when I had a Windows PC and using Firefox with Bitwarden, I only entered my password on startup.

Is the Touch ID Magic keyboard worth it? | MacRumors Forums
February 10, 2023 - ... Yes, the TouchID on the keyboard is a very useful and worth addition. If you're okay with the already high price of the Magic Keyboard and its limitations (no backlighting, rechargeable battery), I think that the extra 50$ is well worth it

August 7, 2023 - You're binding those keyboards to one computer, and one computer only. As such, unless you have a massively compelling reason to want the Touch ID sensor for logging into things, it just doesn't make sense to buy the Magic Keyboard. Get the MX Keys Mini instead. Apple Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Numeric Keypad (USB-C)
Apple's Magic Keyboard With Touch ID and Numeric Keypad (USB-C) is a competent daily driver that the Apple faithful will enjoy. Our main quibble: While the USB-C compatibility is a welcome update, the overall design is past its prime. Mild Magic remix just adds USB-C

Apple's Magic Keyboard With Touch ID: A Review | Wayne's Workshop
August 10, 2021 - The darker font, new icons, and rounded keys to mirror the radius of the corners are all nice additions and provide a nice set of updates. Now, let us move onto Touch ID itself. The Magic Keyboard with Touch ID, as the name implies, has Touch ID. The Touch ID sensor will only work on Macs with an M1, or newer, chip.

Apple Magic Keyboard 2 Long-Term Review: Still My Favorite | Fstoppers
November 22, 2023 - From my experience switching between my Mac keyboard and the standalone Magic Keyboard, there is little difference in the size or layout of the keys. This improves efficiency and allows your fingers to remember where everything is so that you type even faster and can simply look at the screen while typing. While this is a skill everyone needs to learn, it is much easier to learn it if your keyboard layout does not change. Sure, there is no Touch Bar, and there is a whole numeric pad for digit inputs, but the basic layout of the letters is the same, which is all that counts.

Review: Apple Magic Keyboard With Touch ID And Numeric Keypad | The IT Nerd
May 3, 2024 - Which means that you won’t need Touch ID to unlock your Mac. Which by extension means that you may not need to buy this keyboard for that use case. Another plus is the typing experience. I have to admit that despite the fact that I learned to type on a typewriter back when dinosaurs roamed the Earth, which in turn made me gravitate towards mechanical keyboards, the typing experience on this Magic Keyboard is quite good.

Magic Keyboard w/TouchID: is it worth it? – On my Om
August 13, 2021 - The new keyboard(s) is designed to work with devices powered by the M1 chips, and you need the latest version of Apple’s operating system. You can use the new Magic Keyboard with the Intel-based Macs, but the Touch ID doesn’t work with those machines. Also, instead of getting one with a numeric keypad, I ordered a smaller non-numeric version.
