Cordless polisher for a beginner - Makita 40v rotary vs 18v DA

I’m honestly new to detailing and looking to dive head first and get my first polisher. I’d really be looking for something cordless and as I’ve got a fair bit of Makita gear already I’m leaning towards their polishers. The thing is in the 40v range they only have a relatively new rotary polisher (https://makitauk.com/product/pv001gd201), can’t really find anything online about it except for a few promotional videos. The 18v DA polisher is established and I think has good reviews, but I’m deeper in the 40v range and the thought of the new model is alluring.
I’m thinking that as the 40v is a newer mode hopefully ergonomics and such would be better? I do have 18v batteries, but I think I’d need to get 1-2 more if I were to get that polisher and I’d rather just keep it in the 40v range.
The general consensus I could see is that a DA is much more forgiving for a beginner + produces easier good final results. While the rotary would be more suited for cutting faster? I’d honestly spend the time learning and be very careful not to overdo/burn the pain - but from what I can gather here the DA would produce better final polished results? It would pretty much be for household/family use, with a mix of v large/smaller cars.
I already have a small spta cordless DA which I assume should be fine for any of the intricate corners.
Am I stupid for considering the rotary over the DA or could the rotary be suitable for me?
I wanted to replace my corded polisher with the Makita cordless one. But what the f makes it 2x the price of other brands? Tempted to just sell all my makita tools and move to Milwaukee.
